The rune had, at its very center, a stem that went from the bottom most part of the rune to near the top of it. There the rune parted into two, becoming a covering to the rest of it. Below that was another covering, the two ultimately becoming a sort of upside down handle to a pair of triangles that were axe blades.
It was the rune of dwarfen wrath and penance. Of atonement guaranteed through death. It was the rune of Drengi, the rune tied closely to the Slayer Berserker God Grimnir.
“Scared?” Adok joked as he stood next to Lucian, “Drengi is quite the rune and I thought it would be good to be your first one.”
“But that's the rune of Grimnir, the God of the Slayers.” Lucian said as he looked upon it cautiously, “Wouldn’t it be against your Gods for a human to wear it?”
“Ha, if that was the case, then Sigmar would never have been able to carry Gal Maraz!” Cheered the Dwarf with a laugh, “A great many slayers have had lives just like yours. I know of one who lost his entire village to the Raki and devoted his entire life to the destruction of their kind. I can still feel the runeaxe I made for him.”
“Does using the Rune summon the presence of Grimnir? Will he have sway?”
“I don’t really know.” The Dwarf admitted with a shrug, “The Runes are not magic, but something else. While this Rune is associated with the Ancestor God Grimnir it existed before him when it was discovered by Thungni before his cousin became the first Slayer and traveled towards the Chaos Gates.”
Lucian felt his stomach twist as he realized something, “You see that as my path?”
“You’re facing against the God of the Damned, of course I would think that.” Adok announced with a conviction that was clearly held firm by the hands of his soul.
Lucian weighed a thought within his mind before nodding, “I think you are right.”
“Good, now lets get this armor on you.” Adok announced as he moved forward and grabbed a boot from the suit.
