>>5791009We could pretty easily nick some books on psychology and with magic, she could sit in on counseling classes with no one the wiser. If she wanted to. But honestly a few books, and being empathetic and understanding puts her 99% ahead of the curve haha. That is how bad it seems. Like raid the self help section of a Barnes and Noble and an intro to psych book from a muggle college book store and she could change the world, if we can help her convince a few people to just try talking about their problems for an hour an accept some advice. Hell, we could likely brew up some potions that might help with anxiety or depression for her to prescribe as well.
>>5791062I have heard that logic before and I guess I get it, but wizards can survive a lot. AK isn't lazy, it is a tool for a job and that job is when someone needs to be put down. Note it is only unforgivable when used on another person. Fake Moody used it on a spider, and it was kosher, so presumably if there was an angry bear charging at you, it would be fine as well.
I do USPSA shooting competitions most weekends, among other things. I can enjoy the sporting aspect of my "wand" but, at the end of the day, I do those competitions to better prepare for if I ever have to use my "wand" for what it is made to do.
It might just be a difference in culture. As an American, we have enshrined our right to use immediate and overwhelming lethal force legally and culturally. Brits have to show ID to buy butter knives.
Long story short AK being bad is dumb writing/world building.
