<span class="mu-b">“I mean when I went to my usual guy to get the gold coins appraised, I was pretty much laughed out of the store.”</span> she said in a frosty tone, her cheeks burning slightly. <span class="mu-b">“That had to be one of the most humiliating moments of my life.”</span>

She sighed and popped the latches on the case. <span class="mu-b">“See for yourself.”</span>
You gave her an odd look and knelt down to open the briefcase. The dazzling gleam of gold was bright enough to blind those that were unprepared to receive its majesty. But right when you were about to say something, you noticed an unusual feature of the coins. Specifically, the fact that they weren’t round at all. Not like they’d been before.
In fact, they looked flimsy and flaky, but not in a metallic sort of way. They almost looked like…

<span class="mu-b">“I think we’ve been duped.”</span> Cat confessed.
You rose to your full height, meeting her eyes evenly. <span class="mu-r">“By who? Pandora? Hill? Peter Pan?”</span>
Cat shook her head. <span class="mu-b">“By the fairies, I think.”</span> she said, running a clawed hand through her white hair. <span class="mu-b">“This is a typical fairy prank. They charm people with gold, only for them to later realize that they’re just flowers that were made to look like gold. They think it’s hilarious.”</span>
