You leveled a glare at Hill and crossed your arms in defiance.
“Are you seriously trying to low-ball me this early in our relationship? I know what I’m worth.” you declared.
Hill’s frown deepened.
“Besides,” you continued. “I was planning on using a good chunk of the money to help the Morlocks down in the sewers. What the hell kind of renovations can I afford after my team gets their cut?”
Hill leaned her head to the left slightly to glance over your shoulder. You assumed that she was looking at Callisto.
“Check your math, Huntsman. I’m giving you more than what most government agents make as an annual salary. You earned it in only three days. I’d say that’s a pretty good deal.” Hill said. "Besides, that's a Kravinoff you've got back there. I'm guessing she didn't tag along because she was hurting for cash. You'll be getting her share all to yourself."
You shook your head. “This wasn’t just some regular rescue mission. We literally dove into a magical realm and gathered up a bunch of mutant kids that went mad with power. We fought a giant croc, immortal pirates, and we did it all without leaving anyone behind or letting anyone die!” you argued.
Hill gave you a flat look. “I’m aware. You encountering Tick Tock was unfortunate, but you were more than a match for Hook and his pirates. You were the only ones with guns that fired more than one bullet.”
“You sent us in there with bad intel.” Prowler said, narrowing his eyes at her. “We went in blind, not knowing what to expect, and that put us in more danger than was strictly necessary.”
You were waiting for Cat to speak up as well, but you figured that she was probably trying to avoid being noticed as she held the treasure coffer close.
Hill looked thoughtful for a moment, and then nodded. “While I won’t accept fault for that oversight, considering Peter Pan’s bad memory is to blame,” she began. “I see your point.”
She snatched the datapad back and made a few corrections.
“Fine. $600,000.” she decided.
What will you say?
>”That’s more like it!”>”Getting warmer…”>”Try $800,000.”>”$700,000.”>”Why don’t we settle for a clean mil?”>”I’m not playing these games, Hill. I’m tired, sore, and in desperate need of a shower. Don’t jerk me around.”>Write-in.Pastebins:
