Lucian told the tale as close as he remembered it. The facts about the number of Necromancer’s and their powerful undead was first and foremost within the mind of the Peasant. The timeline was rough, Lucian admitted, but it was close enough to explain what happened.
The mention of the warrior was something that took some interest from the Priest, but the most interest was the mentions of the ritual involving the Grail Knight. To say he looked somewhat confused was an understatement as at the end of his tale he spoke his mind on the matter.
“Really, they were attempting to raise a Grail Knight? From my travels across these lands I have not heard of anyone succeeding at something like that.” The Priest pointed out with some certainty.
“Albera believed they were capable of something. If we did not arrive there that hour then they might have raised the Grail Knight as something far more powerful.” The Knight said as he roughly remembered the words spoken that day.
“Interesting…” The man rubbed his chin hearing those words, “Have the Necromancers learned a way to raise someone so divinely gifted, that they have enough power to accomplish such a task, or perhaps do they have enough power to accomplish such a feat.”
“I… I could not tell you. I was just a peasant before and I don’t think many nobleman would give you a good answer either.”
“I ask because the answer could help us realize our next move.” The man said as he chewed on the remains of the bread that he was waiting on. He swallowed the last of the bread with an obvious pained expression, “Think of it as this; if it was the most former option than it is probably both the worst and oddest one. Maybe Grail Knights have been raised before and the history of such a thing whipped because it would bring terror to everyone.”
“I don’t think its that. We would be in a lot more trouble if that was true.” Lucian pointed out, “Why would a group of Necromancers risk that when a Vampire could easily pull it off if that was true.”
“Your point is taken. A Vampire is worth several Necromancers in aptitude in the necrotic arts.”
