>>5837060we can't REALLY do anything about it. anyone who we'd hide it with would basically as soon as they saw it realize it is valyrian steel. if we hid it somewhere no one would know we were the one who hid it, then other people could find it and take it themselves and just ransom it to our family. and if our dad was to find out we did anything to not present it to him, then we'd likely get disinherited for being slimy and not just showing it to him and trusting him to make the right judgement.
in the case of us getting the weapon. if we come and show it to our dad with others watching, like coming in on a meeting with other nobles would be best, because it would show us as being the finder and thus having a higher right than most others in the family. and if dad is to take the weapon for himself, it would probably be looked down upon by the other nobles around him as dishonorable without then also giving us some equal reward in turn.
and if he takes it, and it is inherited through heir-dom such that our older brother get's it, then we just either ask him for it since he seems more like the administrator type in the relationship between the two of us, and hope the goodwill carry over.
even if we loose it, we can't make the others around us not loose face if we aren't the ones to keep it, or at least gain a massive reward in turn. at least that's how i can see it playing out. so i don't think most anons should worry too much about it. unless the weapon is given to the other side of the family, which i genuinely can't see being done unless our father is actually retarded when it comes to intrigue and politics within noble households. it would embarrass our family name so much.
