It seemed the conversation was going to wind down after that but instead of being told to leave Lucian saw Duke Moriset wave his hand towards the knight, “Lucian, come. We need to speak about something in private.”
It was an odd request. Even Lucian who was not a Nobleman knew that one does not do such requests unless they wish to invite some kind of scandal. He was his Lord though and Lucian did not hear the whispers among the crowd at such words. Ultimately any ire that this drew would not be upon him but the Duke instead.
The ruler led the Veracian behind the table outside of prying eyes and where they could easily hear one another over the drunken reveries that were accompanied by music. It was the voice of a fair maiden that rang through the area, likely a daughter to one of the Knights who saw her skills in song.
“A lot has happened these last few days.” Duke Moriset said as Lucian arrived, “An amount of it personally concerning yourself.”
“Does… does this involve the Feud Lord?” Lucian asked the Duke outright for he felt that his guess was going to be correct.
The Duke nodded with a confirmation, “Yes, Lucian, this is about my foolish offspring trying to get himself killed before he even becomes a Knight of the Realm. What I want in agreement between us is that you will not make his foolishness terminal.”
“This is a feud though, he will have my life if he can accomplish it.” Lucian pointed out with a somewhat firm understanding of what would be called.
To that the Duke simply shook his head, “It is hard to say if it will come to that, Lucian, for you take to being a Noble like a fish to water. My son has simply grown fat on being the only heir, a lesson needs to be taught. You will surely teach it to the fool before he picks on someone far greater than he.”
>Agree to it
>Decline.
