The Brotherhood of Steel didn’t send a representative to the meeting, but they accepted a meeting between the Courier and Elder Hardin back at Hidden Valley.
A day after the council meeting, the Courier heads down an all too familiar path southward. Along the way, he sees gaggles of refugees, the occasional out husk of a merchant caravan and evidence of recent raider attacks.
You stop by Goodsprings to check in, relieved that the small town is doing very well all things considered. With the extra traffic heading south, Trudy’s saloon has had some of the best traffic all year and with NCR troopers using some of the abandoned housing as temporary barracks.
Doc Mitchell would like to eventually talk about how they can assist, but for now, they send the Courier on his way with a full canteen and a reminder of the good in the Wasteland.
Approaching Hidden Valley, you notice an increased patrol presence, with some of the youngest trainees being put on duty and even the scribes pulled for topside efforts. Knight Hardin (no relation) finds you near the entrance, giving you a big slap on the back and congratulations for “kicking those luddite morons” back to California.
As Harding moves deeper into the facility, there is plenty of evidence of the recent expansion of the chapter. The power armor that was under repair in the different bays are now gone, the technicians presumably moved to Helios.
The numerous defense turrets that covered every floor of the bunker complex are now also gone. If the Courier didn’t know better, he’d think half of the chapter had up and disappeared. Those that come across the Courier’s path are friendly and congratulatory, however.
Before long, the Courier finds himself sitting in Elder Hardin’s chambers.
