A few reasons Lord Celtigar could have for pre-emptively forcing peace. Maybe to show a strong front against the other Crownlands houses which are here, or maybe as theorised by Alyn to pre-emptively protect the false heirs from being beaten when they are fast-tracked to knighthood?
