>>5837154>>5837155i did understand we weren't gonna die, it's more so that i feel the "something happened that we can't come back from" can also be a really big blow to the story, especially with how far we've gotten.
as of yet, we've basically gone into the water and back out, with many chances to die yes. but we did get out. unironically im more so sad because we got so far, and it is here in the last stretch that we get hurt. especially the fact we are loosing the idol.
of course, we'lll probably try to fix whatever went wrong, but im just irritated, because this tale was nearly perfect for alyn to want to immidately want to do something with the sea again, and to be known for it. now im wondering if we are going to be a cripple with a aversion to the sea because of this. and the fact that in a literary sense, the idol was the link we've had to our waifu, loosing it now kind of "severs" that connection, at least in terms of no longer having a physical memento of her.
i guess im just really angry because this works against us in a story telling way, and that we were this, this close to greatness.
...but i get it, especially with this quest set in the world of a song of ice and fire, it's not supposed to be a power fantasy or forgiving. but still. i guess im just really invested. here i am currently with a draft of a post, talking about what kind of artifacts we could be working towards stealing and trying to get ahold of. i might be over invested, but if you read this herald, see that as a compliment.
