“To think that she would make us fools!” The Dwarf laughed as he downed another drink from the waitress that was giving them all mead, “Haha, damn girl probably learned it from the Wutelgi!”
Lucian was upon his horse, Nightshade, as they were walking into the village in the dead of night. Mannslieb was hanging in the air way above their heads with enough light that they could see most of the road. Yet as he looked around he felt his heart flair up looking towards his shoulder.
Any time he would look up the Knight would quickly be reminded as his eyes gazed upon the memento that was gifted to him. A piece of pure white fabric that was the sign that Lucian was indeed given her favor.
The flush of blood came into his head and that feeling of dizziness was upon his person.
“by Morr and the Lady.” grumbled the Errant as he placed his hand upon his forehead.
“I don’t think this was simply the decision of the Gods, Umgi.” Laughed Adok as he decided to twist the proverbial dagger deeper into Lucian’s mind.
“I… I don’t know.” Admitted the Knight as they came across the inn. At the front of the place was a large sign that displayed a bed, the picture of which looked to be very comfortable to the eyes of a road weary knight.
Dismounting and walking up to the door, Lucian noticed that while there was still lights in the cracks of the wood there was no light from the few windows the building had. Applying just a little bit of pressure to the door Lucian noticed that the door was not going to budge.
“Looks like someone barricaded themselves inside.” Adok said as he pointed to the wooden panels that were barely visible in the moon’s light.
“No blood has been spilt yet.” Tyny said as the large monster he was rising walked up to meet the group. A few barks came from the monster he rode to which Tyny said, “No worshippers of Chaos have been around. None of who have been far enough tainted to gain mutation.”
“Think we can go back on the road Umgi?” Adok asked with a raised brow.
“Truffles and Nightshade cannot do it.” The Knight said as he lifted his hand to the door, “We can ask, at least.”
And with those words he rattled three knocks on the locked door.
