"Hey, hey, it's fine!" You slowly get back up. "No harm no foul, right?"
"Y-yeah. S-sorry, again. We're not supposed to interact with outsiders like that, Thomas." The young mother whispers to her kid before glancing up at you. "W-what brings you here?"
"Pretty deer." Thomas is staring up at you with fascination. He can't be any older than three, maybe four. Cute.
"Just here to see a movie with some friends. Maybe check out the District. Nothing much, really?" You don't want to say that you chose this place because of a stolen corporate document, of course. "Is there anything I should know?"
"Oh! Not really, no. You got the candle, so you're fine!" The young mother nods with a faint smile. "Just be wary of some of the older people here. They don't particularly like outsiders."
"May I ask why?" You raise an eyebrow.
"Mmh, couldn't quite say. I don't really keep up with City history." The young mother grabs onto Thomas' hand. "Have a good day, miss!" And soon, the two disappear into the crowds of similarly dressed men and women. Something about this place faintly reminds you of N-Corp's district. Though with N-Corp, it was more grey, black, white and gold. This is white with faint bits of colors.
As you're about ready to try finding the movie theater here, you feel someone tapping you on the shoulder. Your PARADIGM immediately shifts into a stiff, boring business suit. Someone immediately taps on it to return it to the bomber jacket form.
Turning around, you see Maruyama and Kiara standing right behind you.
Maruyama looks about the same as he always does. A very generic looking Japanese man with a two piece purple business suit, black dress shoes, beige hat, and a briefcase in hand. The only thing different is a small purple highlight in his hair.
Kiara's bright orange bomber jacket and black turtleneck sweater are the same as they always are but she's been dolling herself up. A few cheap rings, one on both ring fingers, and some fresher looking latex-faux skin covering her arms + legs + face.
Both of them are holding a candle. Kiara's is bright orange while Maruyama's is dull violet.
"Never much cared for this place, to be quite honest." Maruyama clicks his tongue as he scans his environment. "Too quiet. Too bright. Worked here once, felt like I was going insane."
"I think it's quite neat, really." Kiara chides Maruyama with a small slap to his back. "We spent a T-Corp ticket to get here. Might as well enjoy ourselves, like Nicole plans on doing."
Wait, you did plan on splurging on yourself but how does Kiara know that?
"What's with the highlight?" You point at Maruyama's head. The neon red blush that sprouts on his face tells you all you need to know. "Oh. Kiara, you didn't."
"Maybe~!" Kiara coos. "C'mon! Movie time! I know exactly where a good one is around here." You shrug, might as well. The two of you begin to walk down the neon white streets of L-District. You hand the two the movie tickets so, you know, they can get in.
