>2 successes: ready company, despite your disposition and station the men pay little heed to your differences, some of them even know a thing or two about your destination and the goings on of your house.
Lucos was a man of ready company you learned, he knew more than a few of the men aboard as you followed him, quick comments, jabs and questions flowed from the man and he was clearly well known if not well regarded by the other men, you wondered if the same could be said of you one day as a knight. After a particularly Bawdy exchange between Lucos and a fat man called Tommen you found yourself approaching a rather rough group of soldiers at the mess table who wore bored expressions though as you approached a quick comment gathered their attention as Lucos entered the circle, their leader by your reckoning and a man late of his 40th name day stood as you entered with a casualness that concerned you, he stood near two feet on you and struck a imposing figure with his unkempt dark blonde hair and sternly lined features, he spoke with a thick accent you could not name.
‘’Lucos’’ he said simply, he had a dark look in his eye.
’’Rickard’’ Lucos replied, his usual grin was gone.
’’You got my stags?’’ Rickard challenged.
’’as soon as Duncan pays me’’ Lucos muttered.
The moment stood for an agonizing moment as the two man seemed to size each other up, for a moment you wondered if they would come to blows, but in the blink of the eye the moment passed and the older man chuckled before Lucos joined him and soon the circle joined them as the men embraced, you even ventured it yourself though more nervously than your company, as the mirth subsided Rickard sat again offering a seat to Lucos, you remained standing expecting a introduction you soon found lacking.
Rickard spoke first offering Lucos a wineskin ’’So tell me Lucos, has Duncan finally given you spurs?’’
Lucos simply chuckled before taking the wineskin ‘’Not yet, once this is done and we’ve seen the prince off he will and a 100 dragons’’ the dryness of the remark gathered more than a few laughs from the other men though it perplexed you, did Lucos not wish to be knighted like you did?
’’Aye that two once h-’’ a look and soft kick from Lucos killed the response from Rickards lips a moment before he refocused on you who’s this then, Another squire Duncan’s taken in? though he spoke to Lucos while he took you in, you felt as if he was ser Duncan when he had you parade, always checking for a misstep though you saw a sadness in those eyes as he did so.
’’Rickard this here is Alyn Celtigar of our lords house, Alyn this is Rickard of… he left the last part hanging to the amusement of the men.
