The Squire looked upon the Knight and knew that his time was limited. He could not really think for the darkness was ever encroaching upon his person. If he failed to deal with it now than he will die when the darkness embraced his form.
Yet he did not fear this. Here he was doing good work for the cause of Morr. Fighting against the damned and the wicked keeping them from raising a corpse of the fallen for their own selfish means. In that there was a sense of serenity within his heart as the weapon was balanced calmly within his hands.
“Fallen Knight.” He spoke as he prepared his weapon, “I hereby give a prayer to Morr that he gives me the strength to unbind you. To release you from the realm of the living and pass on into the afterlife. Expect no other outcome, for I am one of his chosen.”
The Knight poised itself and went forward. Might it have been the provocation that Lucian was better than it that caused the attack? Maybe it was the fact that Lucian was giving it a chance at release that spurred the spirit into action that might have been seen as suicidal.
What mattered now was that the undead was moving forward with others. Adok having cleared through the zombies on the right left those on the other side to contest Lucian alongside their Knight.
He would hope that their bites were not infectious. That unlike the Knight’s sword that their teeth would only pierce his skin and nothing more. He had to put trust in the armor that Adok had made for him and in the prayer that he had made towards Morr.
There was nothing more for him to do but fight. Knowing this he lifted his blade and pulling back waiting for the moment to strike.
He saw it there and swung, the blow met by the quick hand of the Knight that battered away the staff of the blade with the broad side of his sword. Said warrior came in for the strike to which Lucian was quick enough to block with his weapon’s staff.
The duel had started between the two of them with silence. Both of them fighting as the Lords of the Death placed their might behind their chosen champions in damnation.
