You decide to be honest. If anything, it’ll make them trust you more. ”I’m afraid it’s not going to work. My mind is immune to probing, though I don’t mind answering any questions you might have.”
“Immune?” The Martian says, surprised. The rest of the League also look at you with the same sentiment, though Hawkgirl’s expression is mixed with disdain.
John, the green lantern, speaks. “I vote to let the man stay at the station for now. We can interrogate him after he has a bit of time to himself in one of the rooms.”
“I’d be grateful. The trip was long.” You reply.
The Martian nods. “I agree with John.” He turns to Superman. “Superman, could you please accompany our guest to his room?”
“I’d be happy to.” Superman replies. The group splits off and you start walking down the halls of the space station along with Superman, or Clark Kent.
You watch the windows of the halls. The planet is as described in the archives of Viltrum. Though you can see flickers of light on the surface, many many more than the ones that showed up in the images recorded. It seems the civilization is booming.
Superman seems interested in speaking to you. “So, how come you chose Earth as your destination?”
“It’s advanced enough, far from many of the dangers in the galaxy.” You reply.
“If you don’t mind me prying.” He says. “What happened to your home?”
It seems you’ll have to dig the lie deeper still.
>Let’s tell a relative truth. “There was a great war at my home. Our people killed each other. I fled all of that.”
>You’d rather not have this conversation. “Sorry, it’s still a bit tough for me. Could we change the subject for now?”
>”I simply lost everything I had. I wanted to start anew, in a place where I could leave everything else behind.”
