>>5866193“I’m trying to support you. Like, the real you, not this other nonsense. We’re starting to know each other, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t believe in what I say and what I see in you.” You say. “You have two options: you can either start forging your new path and I’ll be there to help, or you can follow your master’s shadow and continue doing what you’re doing. Either way, you’re stuck with me. So, why don’t we make our lives a little better, and just insult me? You’re within your right, I know I’ve been really harsh right now. Bring it.”
“...Is this how you apologize?” Suan De raises an eyebrow of her own.
“No, I usually just say it. And this case is no different.” You try to make up for what you did too.
“Ah, you’re withholding your apology…” Suan De gets it.
“I have nothing to apologize to a Slob Dragon.” You smirk. You hope she gets that you’re playing, or else, you’ll be dead and buried before Scarlet can eat a cone of ice cream. “But I’ll be much much nicer from now on.”
“Kuhuhuhu~... You’re a deranged piece of work.” Suan De is either losing her mind or accepting her fate. “How can I forge my path with a name I didn’t decide on my own? Don’t you think?”
“Huh, take it as a gift from me to you for being so stubborn with your last nickname. Make it yours.” You scratch the back of your head. “So, is that what you decided on?” Is she going to start being her own person?
“When I first resigned myself to become someone else’s tool, a weapon, I knew one day there’d be circumstances that would turn me into a burden. But instead of being discarded, I saw myself finding a new wielder, over and over again, until the day I die.” Suan De explains. “…yet, I never foresaw that someone would yank me so badly that it made me wish to fully reclaim my autonomy. You’re that someone.”
“Oh… That’s kinda good, right?” You cannot possibly be worse than the leader of the mafia, right? Right…?
“You’re driving me insane. But I’m going to finish this job no matter what. Our success is going to be the way I earn my freedom.” Suan De resolves.
“Alright, if that works for you.” You only wanted to have some friendly banter together…
“So while I’m at a crossroads, I’ll be… *sighs*... the Slob Dragon.” Suan De can’t believe those words came out of her lips.
“Suan De, I only wanted to do some friendly smack talk.” You shrug.
“With this in-between identity, I suppose I can, you four-eyed nitwit.” The Slob Dragon assumes her role. “And don’t be concerned, I’ll do the same with the fatass, the cripple, and the doormat.” Suan De untightens her tie a little. “Let’s return before they start complaining.”
“Hmm…” You don’t think this came out all that great. But only time will tell…
