As soon as you woke up the next day, you snuck out of your hideout, careful not to step on any of the trash that littered your floor, and swung out into the city to meet up with Cindy. But not before snapping a pic of Ember passed out on Flint in the shape of a beanbag.
Unlike the other Desperados, Cindy and her roommate had woken up bright and early for training. When you asked to meet up with them, though, your ward sent you an address for an old, run down gym in Hell’s Kitchen that Matt referred her to. And with the aid of your newly acquired flight power, you got there a lot sooner than either of you anticipated.
There Cindy stood on an empty sidewalk in front of the gym, scrolling through her phone with her one good hand. Her other one was in a sling and a cast, while her left foot was in a boot.
Hoping to give her a scare, you came crashing down right beside her, emerald flames still wisping off of your suit.
Cindy gave you an unimpressed look from above.
“What? Not even a shriek?” you asked, still squatting down in your signature pose.
Cindy gave you a wry grin.
“I heard you coming a block away, and I spotted you on my phone's camera.” she said, waving her phone back and forth.
“I should've never bought you that thing.” you said, rising to your full height and wrapping her in a gentle hug.
“Sorry I couldn't be there for your discharge. How do you feel?”
Cindy shrugged.
“I'm fine. It doesn’t hurt or anything.” she said, putting her boot on its heel and turning it back and forth on the ground in front of you.
You've always known that Cindy had an unreasonably high pain tolerance, but you were worried that she would push her body too far one day.
“Just because you can't feel it, doesn't mean you aren't hurt.” you said, putting a hand on her sling.
She smiled at that.
“Khonshu fixes whatever I can’t sleep off overnight, so there's no permanent damage. And since I can't feel it, I don't worry about it, you know?”
You frowned at her, not liking her blatant disregard for personal safety.
“Oh, hey! Do you wanna sign my cast? You can be the second.” Cindy offered. “Wanda cut in front of you, sorry.”
She offered you a marker and you stared down at it.
What will you do?
>Sign it as Ben Parker. Even if she won't be wearing it for that long, it'll be a nice keepsake.>Sign it as the Huntsman. She can brag about it at school later.>Sign it as Spider-Man. You can steal his spot, and he can steal yours.>(Write-in a custom message)>”Cindy, we really need to talk about this. You need to be more careful.”>Write-in.Pastebins:
