Well, not exactly face-to-back. You are in the cover of the garage and peeking around a corner, your eyes fixed on the two who have their eyes fixed on the front door. "Man I can't believe I'm playin' along with this." Clyde seems on edge somehow, and not in the usual way either. "Pretendin' that we're here for Max just so she's not alone. What's fuckin' up with that anyway?" Jamie fiddles with what you presume is an earbud, tugging it into the collar of her jacket. "Well, she said her parents keep her here, so I figured we could as well hang out here with her, right?"
In order to ambush them, you'll have to traverse a bit of open ground, but they've no reason to expect an ambush and it's dark enough for them to possibly not see you. As they converse, you crouch just low enough to still move reasonably quickly, while Bulbmin clamps up so as to not be dismounted.
"I guess... So why ain't Steve and Mordo here?" - "Mordo's not feeling well and Steve won't get the phone." - "Heh. Smart man, Steve!" - "What?" - "Well sounds to me like she got fuckin' grounded. Just wait, they won't open the door and we'll have come all the way here for fuckin' nothin'."
You are already halfway toward them now, but then things go awry: "Well you're keeping me company. That's something, right?." The way Jamie leans in toward him makes you feel funny, and Clyde seems to somewhat share your assessment - in that his head wheels toward her, his expression more than a bit confused... "What do ya mean, compa-?"
... and then completely out of sorts when he immediately sees you coming! "JAME, LOOK OUT!" He shoves her to the side as you commence upon a running charge and throws his guard up - only for Bulbmin to leap from your head right toward his!
Clyde, credit where it's due, converts his guard into a goalie's catch, seizing the Pokemon in mid-air, but now has his hands high over his head and is looking up - which leaves his throat exposed as you close and strike!
