Best to get some ID to make sure you don't lose your head. You might've been able to deal with the snipers since you had line of sight with them but fighting a military base filled with soldiers sounds suicidal, even with psychic powers.
"We're going to the admin building. C'mon." You gesture at the others to follow. Naomi and Alexis quietly murmur between each other before heading over to join you and Kiara. You take a quick scan of their minds to see what they were on about but, seeing it was just idle chitchat, you turn your attention to the buildings in the distance.
This is going to suck. You begin to head over to the Administration Building with your allies in tow.
There's no cover from the bright desert sun that shines with an infinite, never-ending hatred. Sweat quickly coats your forehead and shirt and, taking a look at the others, they're not doing too well either. Alexis's breathing is getting pretty shallow and her face has flushed a bright red. Naomi is handling it a bit better but the bandages wrapped around her face are completely soaked and all across her body, you can make out that she's trembling.
[SEEKER OF THE CITY] This isn't like any place in the City you're familiar with. You must've been transported very close to the border between the City and the Wastes.
[SEEKER OF THE CITY] Which, well, would explain why the sun is swelteringly hot and there's nothing but sand for miles.
Kiara is the only one who isn't suffering at all from the heat (understandingly so). She glances around at the rest of the party with thinly veiled smugness in her LED eyes. "You do realize it's only 97 degrees outside, correct?" The smugness disappears almost immediately. "We should probably get you under some shade soon."
[UNSTABLE] "WHAT DO YOU THINK WE'RE TRYING TO DO, HUH???" You quickly put on your shades to hide the sheer intensity of your glowing eyes. "DO YOU THINK WE'RE WALKING IN THE FUCKING DESERT FOR FUN???"
Alexis clears her throat harshly. "Save your energy for when we're not going to die of heatstroke, thanks."
[???] Naomi's face contorts into a weird, off-putting smile. "I agree." <<span class="mu-b">"Please. It would be a waste of your potential otherwise."</span>>
You get the hint and drop the topic for now. Luckily for you, you manage to get to the Administration Building without melting into a pile of sludge. It's a large, blocky building made out of a seemingly random mix of regular bricks and bricks made out of an off-yellow sandstone-like material. Tinted windows are lined all around the building and, guessing based on their thickness, they're bulletproof.
A few men in generic military uniforms are taking a smoke break right at the entrance of the large building. They immediately snap their attention to glare at your group. You decide it's best to get inside to get some identification to show you're not enemy intruders. Your party quickly walks past them and into the building, trying your best to ignore the glares you're getting.
