It was simply sitting there holding a knife with it's paws, directly above you. All it would have to do is let go of it, and it would fall and potentially stab you. Was that it's plan? Unless there are invisible assassins here then it's hard to think the rat would be here to protect you... I mean what can a rat even do anyway? And... Why? You even found it a home, so why would it be here, ungratefully threatening your life? You look around, still in a drowsy state, and wonder what's going on... Could it be the ninjas never left? Or perhaps this is a different rat? Is this even really happening?

You're too afraid to move either, what if this is some sort of trap? As of now, with the information you have, it seems impossible to determine whether the rat is friend or foe, or if you are in danger of being attacked.
Well I suppose just pretending nothing is happening and going back to sleep is one option, but can you really sleep with a knife over your head?
