“Carol, you’re finally out, I–” You try to say something as soon as she’s out of the bathroom, but she interrupts you.
“Keep it to yourself, I’m leaving.” Carol doesn’t want to spend more time here. “I don’t care if you tell anyone, nobody is going to believe you, and those who will will want to slash your throat. My advice? Never open your mouth.”
“We’re not done though.” You’re not letting her go just yet.
“I didn’t hate it, okay? I can *feel* you’re worried. You can act all mad at me, but I know you’re a softie. You’re no different than Vivi, hell, you two are way too transparent for my liking.” Carol reassures. “Am I sounding too harsh? Get used to it, because this isn’t the end of us. I’m not ghosting you like a coward. We took the cult down together, I don’t want you across the lane as my enemy.”
“Sorry, you can’t anticipate everything I’ve got to say.” You shake your head. “Can I speak now?”
“What do you want then?” Carol looks away, half blushing.
