It was many years, generations ago, when the great empires ruled over the lands far and wide. All the land that the light touched, was ruled by these empires, and their emperors or kings. The empires would marry and fight in cycles, always dependent on each other, for their empires were built on bronze and trade. One end of the world had rich amounts of copper and the other end had rich amounts of tin, and many other precious things were scattered over the land, to tempt the living into fighting and trade.

Alas, the something changed about the divine, about the gods. The land yielded less and less, generation by generation. Farmers and herdsmen would tell stories about how their father or his father had much more to go around. Then The End came. Some say it started with the pillagers, who came with their Iron weapons and their violence, and their diseases. Some say the gods sent the pillagers, some say the gods damned the people for not driving the pillagers away fast enough, and some say the gods damned the lands of the pillagers, driving them into our lands. The ground also shook and fire and heat spewed from mountains, while great waves crashed from the sea. Did the pillagers cause this to happen, did the gods punish, or was it something else; no one can be so sure.

What is certain, is that soon, it will be time for you to rule. The current leaders grow old, and its time for there to be a change. The pillagers are gone, and enough time has been spent hiding. Soon, the elders hope, there will be complex clay pots, metal tools, and writing on tablets or reeds again.
