>>5675840"Don't worry bro, we've figured it all out. Alibis and shit. First off, none of them know that we're CCC. As far as they're concerned, I'm just a weird youth pastor and you are my friends. Tim here will tell them that he was part of my study group at our old high school. Unfortunately for him, I shagged his girlfriend during a private Bible study session, and he's hated me ever since. Isn't that right Tim?" He turned toward you with a mocking smile.
"Of course." you told him sarcastically. "Already I can hardly restrain myself". You drew up your arms at Brad in a wild motion, causing the others to laugh.
Brad went on. "So now he hates me. Hates Jesus. He wants his revenge, and to achieve that he needs this coven and their knowledge of the dark arts."
"Don't you think we'll have trouble converting these people after they know send one of our own to spy on them under false pretenses?" Lee was still not having it.
"It's not ideal" Brad admitted. "But we can't just go into this blindly. We need to understand how this coven works. We can't go in blind."
"Lee, their entire religion is a lie." Connor added. "They worship demons and trees. What we're doing is small potatoes compared to that. Besides, it's not them we want to be converting. To hear Martha tell it, the rest of the school is scared to death of them. It's them that we have to appeal to, to teach them how to protect themselves."
"Alright, fine." said Lee. "Let's do it. Just to be sure though..." He looked towards Brad once more. "When you heard from Martha that these pagans are putting curses on people, was she talking about real curses? Do you really think-"
He paused for a second, almost too embarrassed to be asking this. "Do you really think the devil would just go and hand out magic powers to teenagers?"
Brad's expression became tense. "When I talked to her, she was trembling. Martha's not a stupid girl. She says something serious is going on, she means it. We had reports from other students too. None of them sounded like this was part of some game."
Suddenly, a shrill noise sounded behind you, which could only be the school bell. Brad turned toward the others one more time. "Let's go."
