Pendragon Quest

Long ago, in a time too old to be remembered by most, a faint light traced across a dark sky. It shot past the stars, and into the atmosphere of an unsuspecting world. Its long journey of countless lightyears ended with a fiery impact as it met the dirt with a violent greeting. Inside the newly formed crater, something slowly awakened and rose. An alien creature, the last of its kind, took its first breath after countless lifetimes frozen in space.

This creature would soon come to be known as Titania, the Queen from Beyond the Stars and Mother of the Fae. Titania's species had the ability to manipulate mana, which flowed freely and constantly throughout this world and its inhabitants. Titania was utterly capable of shaping the world around her as she saw fit, and from the borrowed mana of the Earth she molded her army. Many were humans who were distorted both in body and mind by Titania's mana manipulation, while others took the form of unimaginable beasts created from the Earth itself, but all were given the name of Fae, and all marched to spread the reach of her control as she began to terraform the Earth into a completely different world. She had but one goal: to change this planet into one where her kind would flourish and replace the world's current inhabitants.

Most kingdoms affected by Titania's sudden invasion were slow to raise their armies to quell the threat as they struggled to understand the gravity and truth of the situation. Even after their armies had been amassed, they were quick to crumble at the wave of Titania's hand. As soon as the armies of man had entered the realm of her influence, she simply twisted the humans and they became nothing more than added numbers to her own growing army of fae. Even the few kingdoms which were wise and swift enough to comprehend and react to the threat at hand struggled to contain it with no reliable way to challenge the powerlessness that came with entering Titania's Fae domain.

That is, until one kingdom had captured Oberon, the first of the fae. The brightest scholars and mages banded together to examine the first and only fae to ever be successfully captured and studied alive. Through their findings studying Oberon, they had finally begun to understand their enemy, and how to fight back. This boon had come too late though, as by this time Titania's control had grown so strong that most kingdoms had already fallen, and only the brave, strong, or lucky few were still struggling to survive against the unstoppable current.
