A Dragon Was Annoyed

Alright, so you’re a dragon. The flimsy kind—the one with one or two annoying biological defenses and the ability to breathe fire or ice or whatever, flavors as numerous as all the species of fruits. You’re not one of the gods that can only be killed with some ancient millennia-old relic and can cast spells better than most wizards.

Apparently, there’s some castle beyond the mountains your lair is surrounded by. There had to be—what else would explain all the invading soldiers armed (albeit poorly) with rusty swords, bows literally made from tree branches, and non-metal shields?

Okay, it may not be a castle. Then it’d be even easier to stop the trickle of humans coming to kill your only eighty-year old self. No confident guesses to how well an army of human infants would fare against a hatching dragon, though.

You also couldn’t see any settlements in the plains located beyond your rocky home. Whatever the humans were living in, it was beyond the horizon by who knows how much. There’s not any possible way you could overprepare: sometimes dragons that were handling armies consisting of thousands of humans would die to something as insignificant as a seeking magic shot that targeted an eye.

Unfortunately, the main reason you were cautious was that there was basically nothing you could do to prepare other than load up on food. You also had nothing special other than the elements you controlled.

Enough stalling. You fly down the mountain bordering the grass ocean and begin walking.

<span class="mu-s">Fire:</span> Breathe out fire, and resist hot temperatures.
<span class="mu-s">Ice:</span> Breathe out ice, and resist cold temperatures.
<span class="mu-s">Earth:</span> Breathe out dirt and launch metal and rocks out of your mouth. You can choose to not be moved by outside sources while grounded.
<span class="mu-s">Wind:</span> Breathe out wind. You can choose to not be moved by outside sources while airborne.
<span class="mu-s">Electricity:</span> Breathe out electricity, and resist electric attacks.
<span class="mu-s">Acid:</span> Breathe out corrosive acid, and resist corrosion on your body.
<span class="mu-s">Poison:</span> Breathe out poisonous substances, and gain immunity to poison.
<span class="mu-s">Light:</span> Breathe out blinding light. You cannot be blinded by bright light.
<span class="mu-s">Darkness:</span> Breathe out energy that destroys light. Your vision cannot be negatively affected, even if your eyes are destroyed.
<span class="mu-s">Water:</span> Breathe out water, and gain the ability to breathe underwater.
<span class="mu-s">Psychic:</span> Breathe out intangible psychic waves that temporarily mind control targets.
<span class="mu-s">Force:</span> Breathe out energy that applies constant force in any direction to objects touching it (think telekinetic breath). It is harder to split objects apart than to just move them.
