you are just another town guard from dogenvale, an honestly mediocre large town. you guard the large town, you have your spear, you drink your ale, you'll probably grow old in this job and collect a pension from the crown, and it would be the best job in the world if it wasn't for the retarded adventurers rolling up in your town. you'll have lots of kids with your wife and probably die here of old age. you are not important, in a lot of things.

in physical terms, though you very much passed the tests, you have let your weight go over your long boring career here. you are not the strongest, or the fastest, or the best armed. most of your job consists of handling civilians, so honestly the chainmail, helmet, and spear are just fine most of the time.

today you are assigned duty inside the town, and the biggest news is that some cleric, who looks like an unstable adventurer type, is currently holding a big speech in a public square that seems to be making a doomsday cult occur. is that illegal? you're not even sure.

getting off-duty and visiting some of the exotic market stands here today would be fun, meager as your pay is. could pretend to patrol through there, though, you suppose.
