The UECN has long been a facet of projected power within the Ariadnae Eridani system, and with the advent of the Zubov-Shock Effect Drive the ability to project influence across the vast gulf of interstellar space is now a realistic possibility. With the threat of piracy and political terrorism now much diminished as a result of recent Maritime Intelligence Office activity, the most up-to-date vessels of the System Defense Fleet have been outfitted with FTL capabilites to serve as Eridani's tip of the spear.

2. Early FTL exploration (CentAdmin):
The first manned expedition would be made up of a subsection of the first fleet consisting of; both "Inari" class Electronic Warfare Cruisers for their Panopticon grade sensor systems, an "Eidolon" class Line Cruiser, a "Strázovce" class Carrier and 6 "Alexandria" class Escort Frigates to ensure tight security for the otherwise lightly armed ELWAR vessels. Their purpose would be a simple fly-by scanning of the system before more intensive studies can be performed by dedicated scientific crews on follow-ups to ensure the system isn't home to anything which would see civilian vessels as an easy target.

3. Initial psychokinetic research (MIO):
The last major Pirate holdout ship; a nearly 50 year old "Limitaneus" class Light Escort Cruiser, was finally located and boarded by Maritime Intelligence Office agents who managed to clear out the ship with light casualties and almost no fatalities on their part. The official story presented to the media was that the prisoners secured were being sent to break rocks on some distant asteroid, but the truth of the matter is much different. The MIO has long had a history of using it's nigh bottomless budget in order to persue research deemed to be quackery by modern science on the off chance something of use could be found. In the past two decades, some credence has been linked to the existance of ESP and psychokinetic abilities within certain individuals though actual research into the abilities these people might possess has yielded limited results due to reasonable bans on human testing in experimental fields of study. The MIO, however, is not subject to such laws and now finds itself in possession of several dozen deserters and economic-terrorists of which their pet ESPers can explore the limits of their raw psychic abilities.

Races:
Dwarves - 3/4ths the size of a human, but much stronger and more densely built. Dwarves are shortsighted, but have a large level of endurance, strong muscles and are bale to breathe at very low oxygen levels. Dwarves are very rare to suffocate, as without oxygen they just hibernate. They live up to 200 years naturally up to 400 with dragonblood.
Semiaquatic Dragon (aka. Dragons) - very slow growing but giant lifeforms. Thety grow up to the size of a large bus without their tail. Dragons can fly at up to Mach 1 unagumented, breathe fire ov varied heat and colours and water jets furthermore dragonblood possesses strong regenerative abilities. Maximum dragon lifespan is unknown as none have yet died of old age since the escape from Sigod. Dragon eggs require a warm aquatic environment to hatch.

Home system: Sybvet - no habitable planets. One destroyed once terrestial world. And a moon around it which is highly industrialised but onlyt hospitable inside completely artifficial constructs. Dwarves tend to live in subterrean dungeon complexes while the dragons preffer underground rivers and caves.

History
Ancient myth said their world would be destroyed. On a rocket with a dozen Dwarves and a dozen dragon eggs fled to the moon where they rebuilt anew following the teachings of the Little Red book. Little is known of the people's of the destroyed world.

Albeit as it is frozen in time except the cracks much can be inferred. It was a world of mostly medieval technology with dozens of races, hundrets of cultures and millions of species of life.

The “Eggshell Pehnomenon” changed that. The planet retains it’s old gravity field, but its seemingly frozen shut and touching it leads to ‘crumbling’ be it touching water, animals or anything else cracks away what was there and revels an infinite black void beyond the cracks.

Some scientists still hope are reversal of the Eggshell phenomenon can be achieved… others wonder if it could be weaponised. Most though look towards old Sigod with nostalgia, it’s right there, billions of people died in an instant helpless unable to escape. A fruitful habitable world right in front of them but one that no foot can ever stand on. Slowly crumbling away. And once it does crumble fully… what will happen to the moon orbiting it?

4. Mark 3 ‘Schrit’ Semi-Powered Assault Armor (CentAdmin/MIO):
Initially developed by Krechal Materialherstellung for use with MIO special warfare teams, the Mark 3 SPA Armor is the first successful implementation of powered combat armor in any capacity. This is achived via a revolutionary electrically reactive polymerized layer of pseudo-artificial muscle to enhance the strength of the user beyond their normal capabilities. The material itself is powered via the use of a high efficiency power cell capable of a 12 hour average mission time and able to be switched or operated without should mission parameters dictate, and is sandwiched within a bodyglove type suit for practical use.

The body glove is the base component of the armor, storing the battery and featuring hard points for armor to be mounted upon. The glove itself is comprised of self-sealing ballistic materials as well as the strength enhancing layer which provides the armor its notability, and is sealed up to the base of the head for connection with any compatible helmet to form a vacuum seal; allowing for operations in the void of space with a 4 hour internal air supply and backup rebreather. The boots and gloves are armored, featuring magnetic adhesion pads on the palms, fingers and feet to assist in zero-gravity mobility.

The actual armor utilized by the Mark 3 system is varied in design and purpose, with a majority being developed and fabricated “in house” within MOI facilities. Helmets universally feature a HUD suite adapted from standard infantry OS, communications systems and real-time biometric readouts available for both the operator and other team members to view; the latter being available via touch via tactile patch-in systems meant to keep wireless signal emittions to a minimum. Various permutations of the base helmet system provide additional features be they mission orientated or simply enhanced protection for a specific threat. The body armor is similarly modular and permits a “mix and match” approach to limb armor and supplemental protective elements such as chestpieces, pauldrons, knee-pads, forearm guards and extra leg armoring.

Due to its semi-powered nature, the Mark 3 armor allows for the user to perform greater feats of physical activity than normal. Wearers move faster, carry more, are less effected by weight and counterforce such as recoil, as well as permitting dedicated and long term HUD usage which otherwise would be restricted to rechargeable eye pieces and goggles with no storage capacity for information beyond limited and pre-programmed features. Additionally, this permits the implementation of automated medical systems working in tandem with vital’s monitoring to provide medication or wound sealant immediately as needed.

Utilizing dubiously legal data tracking methods; the MIO was able to acertain the location of the anarchists and in the first deployment of ‘Schrit’ SPA Armor apprehended the two dozen members which made up the group in the process of shifting their base of operations. As with the last major pirate group, the anarchists of the N-BC quickly found themselves spirited off to a black site in order to be test subjects for non-medical genetic enhancements without the knowledge of the average Eridani citizen. Perhaps it is for the best that way, as no one likes to think about the true cost of advancing scientific progress.

Technology:
A resource currently utilized is Dragonblood. Dragon Comrades share their blood with the Dwarves as it seems to have strong regenerative abilities healing all wounds, extending lifespan and eaven bringing back recently deceased (and not too wounded) people back.

Current use is medicinal, but might come in handly in war in the future in case of gay insta-kill wizardry.

It is known communism is the only path to a just society and mutual survival.

General Tech: 1980’s soviet tech. Some computers exist they are giant and cumbersome. Very advanced smithing and engineering though as befitting of dwarves.

Weapon tech:

So I am thinking of having:

1. Kinetic Projectile weapons like modern weapons just engineered to have higher power as stronger metal can hold stronger explosions.
2. Self-shaping projectile weapon - weapons made to have max armor penetrating power. They kinda look like silly retro futurist tubes
3. Nukes a given , most my shit runs on nuclear energy
4. Molecular sharpness and super harness axes, maybe Vibro-blades - they vibrate super quickly to cut well. Constructed from “People’s Alloy” which is the best mass produced alloy. Imagine it like Adamantium I guess.
5. Limited powerarmor for elite units. Basically only for dragons. Power-armor which makes them actually on paar with modern aircraft and spacecraft combatwise

Religion: Communism! - the teachings of the Little Red Book is what saved our people and helped us thrive. Private property is banned. The common good is enforced. Religion is the opiate for the masses!

Culture: Communist! (Soviets, Maoists and Dwarves)

Home system: Arfive is a red giant, approximately a billion years old. It forms a binary pair with Typhos, a main sequence star. The unique geometry of their orbits generates a broad spectrum of EM emissions, cloaking the Tarnish home-stations from prying eyes. The only planet in the system is a gas giant orbiting the binary pair. Though unexploited, its swirling atmosphere hosts large quantities of light gases that could be refined into interstellar fuel.

Actions:

1) Jamming: The natural properties of Arfive and Typhos generate a signal jamming effect, which thwarts long-range scans of the Tarn’s home system.
2) Decentralized manufacturing: allows industrial production without being tied to a city.
3) Space stations: Tarnish culture is centered around loose networks of space stations, rather than cities. These stations are much smaller than cities and have commensurately lower industrial capabilities. Rather, their strength lies in their number and reputation as nexuses of free trade. (multiple mini-stations per action?)
4) Spacer-born, Spacer-bred: Sociocultural adaptation to off-planet living allows Tarns to spend their entire lives without setting foot on a planet. That which cannot be made or extracted off-world is discarded as useless frivolity.
5) Self-cycling Architecture: Ships are designed to conserve and recycle life-sustaining molecules to the greatest extent possible. This is further emphasized by a strict culture of rationing and conservation aboard Tarnic ships. The result is that Tarnish ships have a greater operational range than equivalent counterparts, allowing them to venture deeper into the Tarn and further along the spacelanes without resupply.

Home system: The primary biosphere of the Nusantra system is Neoborneo, a lush and heavily forested biosphere; though much of the life here is non-native as the world was heavily terraformed in the days of some former Human society to better suit an exodus of flora and fauna from Earth. The Nusantra system holds three other rocky worlds - Scorched Nusumatra and Cool-Oceanic Barujava, and far out Icy Flores, which lies out beyond the ringed gas-giant of Sulawesi and the many moons there.

History: Once intended as an extraplanetary reserve-world to retain multiple species under the threat of extinction by the constant growth of Humanity back on their homeworld, the Nusantra system was cut off from the human worlds shortly after resettlement of the specimen-species had been completed. As the human scientists of Nusantra aged and faded without a viable replenishment population on-world, they uplifted their Orangutan charges to carry on their work. The Pongoman of today seek to replicate the strengths of their Human uplifters in scientific development without giving in to the rapaciousness and destructive tendencies present in old humanity.

Religion: Some traces of the religions of old Earth survive, passed on to charges from the scientists who increased their capacity of thought. Generally, the Pongomen give more concern to the wonders and treasures of this existence without considering too deeply about an unprovable next.

Since their uplifting and inherence of the worlds of Nusantra, the Pongomen have conducted their own terraforming-process replication upon Selayar; a large moon amongst those that orbit the Sulawesi Gas Giant.

To know something, you must study it. To study something, you must see it from every conceivable angle of approach. The Mukamata system relies upon several principles exposed by the development of the linear breach-drive Hyperspace engine to collect readings and conduct analysis of particles past the subatomic level at distances over Astronomical units without causing interference, providing unparalleled boons to the gathering of analytic data.

Another byproduct of the linear breach-drive development, the 'Perisai' fields were developed to smooth the edges of spacial transit along the Hyperspace lanes and provide protection for craft in transit from the implicit threats of impact or energy surge. The hour is late, very in fact, the sun high in the sky. Two of the Mothling people sit in the bowels of the Celestial Coordination Center. On a wide computer monitor in front of them is the latest information from Pebble, the distant satellite on the edge of the solar system. The more formally dressed of the two Mothlings pulls a small glass bottle from a pocket with a wiggle of his antenna.

Other parts of the jungle are cordoned off, left to evolve and grow without interference, while others are sanctioned to hunt.

The necessities of performing spacewalk repairs, and work on the various gas refineries on Jult lead to advancements in technology that should bear benefits for all branches of Alkuntari life. Peering into the past, we see how those that came before saw fit to travel the stars, and with centuries of war we know how to improve. Fully enclosed body-shells with HUD enabled helms, protected atmosphere tanks, and motor actuators in the joints. By learning how to a miniature shield of trapped ions, only able to trap atmosphere against the cruel mercies of the vacuum, it also allows for acid or to still be spit while in the suit.

The ship is built triangular along it's length, 3 outer sections and one core section. The core section contains the vitals, while active systems are on the outer sections. However, the outer sections hold redundant parts for their neighbours, enabling them to recover a destroyed outer section in a reasonable timeframe. This makes the ships able to seemingly regenerate without external assistance.

Niflbard industry expands in response to the prospect of exosolar expeditions. Ships and trains bring large quantities of raw material to Rødhavn where a massive industrial district awaits to turn them into materiel.

originium rocks is black mineral unique to a kazdel, it can gradually assimilate into a living organism's blood and cells making them susceptible to disease and shorten their lifespan but in exchange it gives random mutation to it's host, for the better or worse. most of the kazan are afflicted with originum disease of varying degrees.

History:
After experiencing a brutal civil war that destroyed their homeland and killed 99% of their population, the surviving Kazan roam the universe as a group of refugees and mercenaries looking to carve and rebuild their own home.

Religion:
Primitive Ancestor Worship: the Kazan worships Kazdel, the first king who united the Kazan tribes and ancestor of all Kazan. the Kazan believe that Kazdel will one day return from the dead and unite the scattered Kazan tribes once again.

The first fleet is a spectacle to behold, the pride of the Colonies. Never before has such might been flustered or organized, it sparks a patriotic zeel across the system. And wouldn’t you know it, she’s revealed on such gathering spot right within your system, on some no-name rock at the very edge of your system.

Truly diversity is the strength of communism! For through the breath of drake and hand of dwarf, the people’s metal paves a road not only among the stars themselves, but in countless different ways. Drawing inspiration from nature, architecture follows a more organic route, seemingly attempting to blend with the grand design of life instead of choosing to stand in contrast with it. Though not able to give an exact layout of the system, it could at least tell them how many bodies orbited in the system, and of any potentially large astrological anomalies it contained. With what little resources remain to them, the Mothlings delve into one of their adjacent star system and uncover a stunning red giant. Resisting the urge to simply plunge themselves into its heart, they scout the rest of the system.

A blessing and a curse, Arfive and Typhos do well to hide their presence among the star, however their nature applies still even to the Tarn themselves. Much of the communications planet side must be delivered via packet runners, creating a booming industry in communication even if just as a niche service among the planets. Perhaps it should come as no surprise that a civilization of tragedy and absolute barbarity should undergo a wave of seeking enlightenment. Except, that it is. The great red star is named Setter, after the distinct red Setter flower of our homeworld that briefly blooms at the end of each summer. The system is home to six planets, though the three most inner ones are little more than massive burnt rocks buzzing around the sun. The fifth is twice the size of our own planet and a freezing tundra of chemical snow and deadly gasses, a beautiful milky pearl. The sixth has quite captured the heart of the general population, a gas giant surrounded by breathtaking rings of astral debris. It is Setter 4 though that draws the attention of the scientific community.

The windswept and blasted surface of the planet, scoured clean of life, liquid and air despite its presence neatly in the habitable zone of the star is dotted several dozen what could be described as miniature planets, each one surrounded by a cloud of orbiting stones and dust. As far as the scientific community can conclude these miniature ‘planets’ are actually distortions of gravity itself that have drawn in dust and stone over the years, slowly collecting in the center of the distortion. Though most of the ‘planets’ and their distortions are quite small, the largest of the ‘planets’, present in what once might have been a vast ocean, measures nearly a mile high and is actually safe to walk on the surface of, a curious sight to those watching outside of its gravity.

Naturally speculation abounds on the origin of these strange distorations, though the most likely theory is the most unsettling. Some force or entity actively worked to ‘scrub’ the planet clean, removing water, atmosphere, and life from it, leaving only these gravity distortions behind, like water spots on a poorly cleaned window.

With the invention of the Conrad-Saskia Reactor, the Dragerige Space Force is able to get some actual warships going. Even implementing them into their primitive spaceships they are able to drastically increase their offensive potential. Ship cannons can use energy intensive autoloaders and can adjust more frequently due to not being reliant on solar-power and batteries. Of course there are also the implementation of supercomputers for ballistics calculations and automization of ship systems. The difference is night and day. But an even bigger benefit is that they can finally power the Drageving Drive, a power hungry and temperimental hyperspace drive, folding space along the Drageveg lanes, shortening the distance to our target. It does cause issues while traversing though, as it's a fight between the folding hyperspace drive and the natural force to unfold space back into it's flat shape. This is experienced by the crew onboard by the bending of light, sound and balance. It's described as flickering, and has a high tendency to cause Hyperspace Sickness.

>Action 1: Develop Ekkorn Tactical Shuttle (versatile spaceplane, large selection of mission modules, does what the mothership can't).
While the ship reactor and hyperdrive are potent, they are big and heavy. To such a degree that any spacecraft with both wont be able to survive planetary conditions due to size and weight distribution. This is a problem if we want to do planetary operations, so development began swiftly to plug this gap. But an issue with shuttles is the range and support limitations, adding the necessary parts ended up making it big anyway. However, the reactors that caused this problem is also the solution. By having the ship the shuttle accompanies act as a tender for the shuttle, the range and life support are resolved by just piggybacking off the mothership, sometimes literally. With this, the development of the Ekkorn Tactical Shuttle was underway, supporting a wide variety of roles thanks to the modular compartments. It can be a transport, a recon plane, even a half decent fighter for lack of actual fighters.

>Action 2: Launch Arn Egilson Expedition (explore toward southeast).
We are now able to make craft with enough power to run our experimental FTL drive. Of course it isn't quite as easy as just plugging it in. We are lacking a hull to hold it. A number of wealthy pioneers are leaping at this opportunity, either hiring designers or making the designs themselves. One of them is Arn Egilson, having kept himself up to date on the recent development, he sets about making a ship with Valknut Architecture, which is required when dealing with highly experimental and temperimental technology. Packing triple redundancies of flux capacitors and flux vents, with large internal corridors to support Dragebjørn crewmen. Since their added strength will be useful in an emergency. All this powering a hefty Drageving Drive, sending them hurtling toward another solar system.

The Nuigepeti ships that brave the cold void find shelter in an odd system adjacent to their home-star. The twin stars here orbit in a tight dance, the lesser of the twins siphoning gas from it's much larger partner. A rare combination of exotic blue supergiant and mundane red dwarf, the tinier star sustains it's slow fusion with a steady stream of parasitized helium. Unknowing and uncaring, the much hotter giant burns on, bathing the solar system in blazing blue light.
Still, odd temperature fluctuations, caused by a myriad of factors but all linked to the quirky little red parasite, pepper the system. While within the realm of physics, these strange patterns provide a wealth of exciting new data, opening a ton of possibilities in possible 'goldilocks zones' outside the established known in other, stranger systems.

This new system poses risks to any who linger too long. A mining rig may be blasted by blazing heat for weeks on end, only to plunge into freezing darkness as the temperamental red dwarf sends another wave of chaos across the system. Still, asteroids need mining, and so the Nuigepeti set up shop, and soon the system thrums with mining and cargo ships plying the twisting avenues of heat and cold through the void of space.

Such wonders to behold in the stars beyond! Already the Nuigepeti have learned so much, and so they look to further exploration with eager chattering of their beaks! They head 'south', away from the galactic center, a long stretch of hyperlane leading them to a solitary star. Here, a more mundane system beckons. Rocky planets close to the star feature scorching deserts and only wisps of atmosphere, while distant planets harbor nothing more exciting than particularly large formations of methane crystals. Still, even 'normal' can be beautiful, as the Nuigepeti find themselves facing a massive gas giant of sparkling blue, flickering auroras dancing over each pole as swirling winds stir mesmerizing patterns in the giant blue marble.

These twin ships are commissioned specifically for this duty, the colossal research/exploratory vessels that are the “Noon” and “August” are points of some significant pride for the young starfaring nation, given much trust to complete their multi-year long missions and come back safely.

Each ship is unique, and each headed by a distinguished captain. Helming the Noon is a veteran of numerous rail security shuttle raids, while the August (in part funded by private interests) is crewed mostly by wealthy private citizens, though still under the command of a distinguished captain from the Chapter, disgruntled given his naval command had been rendered irrelevant, but given a new opportunity to fly the stars.

Space may be empty, but nobody said it couldn’t be home. Ready to do just that, and to expand ever onwards, the ecology ships take to the skies and eventually the void. Numerous generations would live and die on these station ships, living out peaceful little lives without ever so much as stepping a foot on a solid world. Overtime this kind of living would make for a kind of sub-species to the seeker line, a peoples not utterly alien to their siblings, but better suited towards living in the low-to-zero G homes their fathers and their fathers’ fathers have worked one for centuries. But still, not all ships stayed adrift in space. Some would strike out to further stars, such as the Setter system, and doubling as a fledgling colonies. Though the worlds remained inhabitable and quite dangerous, the ships at least offered some kind of footing for future developments.

One small jump for Pongoman, one giant hop for pongoman kind. The Outpost is but a humble step to further greatness for this fledgling people, of that one can be sure. For no longer are they but a species of a star, but the children of the starS, plural. May they grow ever wider and grander, and Makamdasse will be no exception. Preliminary scans revealed a handful of worlds, rocky and gaseous alike, but only when you arrived did you discover it held a little more to the eye. One of the worlds must have suffered a traumatic event, as it orbits its star in shattered pieces. Though you’re unable to get a clear view, or reading passed the debri and into its core, readings show that the core, for the most part, is still sealed and intact, allowing the world to strangely function as nothing’s happened.

The central administration finally becomes the Wider Central administration as they see the stars beyond fit to bring into the fold, even if just for purely financial gain. It’s a pain for many paper pushers to stem the tide of miners, both corporate and wannabees alike, looking to make their way to the spoils. But they do well to hold them off as the Administration carefully selects their desired assets, and meneavers them into place to extract resources from the newly acquired system after a rather impressive amount of infrastructure had been installed. But while the private sectors plunders the stars for rocks and ores, the UEC plunders the mind of the filthy pirate and discovers… cancer. And quite a weird one, actually. It would seem that her Parietal lobe had undergone some kind of terrible growth at some point in her life. Though it seemed to enhance her abilities, even if just marginally compared to some of your finest, it becomes quite clear that if you didn’t kill her this thing would have sooner rather than later. You learn what you can from this, but unless the UEC is planning on injecting cancer in their soldiers’ brains, there’s little else to be done.

The Dozvut might be small, but their minds are twice their size. Quick to harness the power of discovery, they theorize all sorts of designs and concepts that can improve the life of every citizen, and most importantly, the state. Efforts begin to make them not just ideas, but reality.
Eager to see what else awaits them in the great void, they explore the trinary system to the south. For the most part it’s business as usual, except for one world. It’s an ocean world, with barely any habitable land to speak of protruding from its surface. Violent storms and tempests rage across the surface, with waves stretches as far as miles high racing across the ocean. But scans reveal there to be life! A vast ecosystem of it actually, but the oceans are deep, abyssal even, and the violent atmosphere makes scanning difficult as it is. It might take more precise efforts to dig deeper.

Amazing advancements are made in regards to the fusion reactor. It takes years of study, but with dedicated effort and resources, the first few stable models are beginning to form, almost to the point where these could become viable for public use. Chaos is nothing more if not the catalyst for opportunity, and many a brave soul takes to mining in the system, and though initially the nature of the stars lead to all sorts of trouble and even fatalities, in time the miners become quite accustomed to working in this environment. Hell, now it’s even considered a sort of custom that when a wave comes crashing across the system that everyone takes a shot of any spirits they have on hand. But still deeper studies go into the star and soon some keen minds realize a startling truth. The blasts emitting from the red dwarf aren’t entirely random, there’s a sort of pattern to it. This leads to further prodding revealing something even more bizarre. The orbit of the stars didn’t occur naturally and not an accidentally either. Their position and drainage are too precise, almost calculated, for that to be the case. Update
Swarms of drones work in a scuttled frenzy in the space between worlds, and from under the clump of their toiling forms is born a wonder of engineering. Like watching ants take apart a large animal, except in reverse, shipyards and industry are erected at speeds that are most impressive. A testimony to what can be achieved under the Mother’s strict guidance. But ships are not the only weapons of war, and if death is to be truly delivered to whatever life is unfortunate to exist out there, then every soldier must be an arsenal unto itself. And now through the use of hardpointed bio-weapons, they shall be. However it does soon enough become apparent why these designs weren’t standardized back in the days of the old masters. Soldiers, though disciplined, are not impervious to mistakes. And weapons who’s triggered by mere thought and/or instinct prove rather hazardous. A lapse in thought, accidental misinput, and the occasional “weapon’s sneeze” does cause enough havoc in the ranks to the point where only elite units are deemed fit and of sufficient genetic quality to have armed to the teeth with these hardpoints.

An idea.

Action 1: Scout the northern system

A stable hyperlane route to a set of binary stars located to the galactic north is located and breached.
The Noon hurtles through the stars on its journey, abuzz with activity following its previous exploration.

It arrives to a quiet system with few notable features. Early reports indicate this one too may be barren of life, though the crew remains hopeful.

One world is a furnace, caught between the spinning suns that appear to orbit it. A gas giant with its surface melted to glass, a storm in a globe.

Heavy metal oceans dominate the geography of a roughly larger than earth sized planet in the mid-system, surface studded with cubic iron pyrite.

The outer-system is cold, one small frozen rock spinning at a dizzying rate, experiencing a binary sunset every hour.

Action 2: Scout the western Stellar Event

The August lenses gravity and speeds across the western hyperlane connection to arrive to investigate the cloud-like stellar phenomena.

The Bouquet System is marked by a rare three star arrangement of a yellow, white and red star spinning a delicate but stable dance through the cosmos. As if seeking their approval three planets in red, white and yellow spin around the three stars.
Our first is a sulfur laden hellscape of molten metal rivers. A complex network of liquid metal rivers crisscrosses the planet, carrying islands of other more stable metals across it, only for the fluctuating heat and tidal forces from the three suns to remold the landscape and send the stable islands moving down new rivers.
The second planet is a vast rust red expanse of sweeping ridges, canyons and mountains. The surface of the planet is covered in abstract swirls and patterns drawn by powerful winds.
The most distant planet is a bleak white rock of ice and nitrogen snow. Tectonic activity has forced the terrain into hundreds of sharp spikes, suitable locations for scout ships to land have been quite difficult to find. The desolate landscape has lead to mass theories that the planet is a secret treasure vault. A few scouts actually pilfer some of the spikes, making a tidy profit on return to Lumiere.

> Technology. Gravity Reduction System. Working off the insights of the Setter System’s gravity anomalies Mothling scientists develop a scientific super material that partially deflects gravitons. The net effect is that objects with this material between them and a source of gravity experience significantly less gravity from that object.
The primary purpose of this innovation is naturally to vastly reduce the cost of landing and departure of spacecraft, though limited runs of flying vehicles, boots, and other novelties do occur, but are largely unfeasible for mass production. An exhibition match of the popular sport Hunters brings in record viewing numbers when it features the substance.
The production process itself actually involves using the gravity well and extreme heat of our home star to produce the material, earning the super material the name Luminite.

The Arn Egilson expedition returns, telling of the new place. Arn Egilson himself names the system Eldingheim, with Eldingstiarna in the middle. It is nowhere near as prosperous as ours, but the talk of those tundra worlds certainly intrigues the Orms. Worlds that maybe could be settled, though with domes for the time being.

With the invention of the Conrad-Saskia Reactor, after its implementation into spacecraft, comes the desire to put one in a land vehicle. Early experiments in putting it on wheeled or tracked vehicles required so much size it made them unable to navigate terrain. However, not only did legs circumvent this, but legs were considered energy inefficient, which is not an issue when packing a large energy surplus from the reactor. Thus the Jordryster mech was made. The Jordryster is a tripod mech, able to stand on two legs while the third finds a new place to stand. It is slow, heavy and a big target, but it's hoped its armour and defensive systems combined with packing an entire artillery battery, will let them destroy any enemy first by overwhelming firepower.

>Action 2: INSIGHT Develop Malmeitar degenerator projectiles (ballistic projectiles that 'poisons' armour and structure, weakening them).
As the Arn Egilson Expedition explored near the gas giant of Eldingheim, they were hit by a few stray chunks of meteorites. This was in no way a match for the armour plating of the exploration vessels... except when it caused it to crack. After retreating, an investigation showed that the armour, which hours before was as solid as the day it was forged, had instead crumbled. Further studies found that the gas giant had ionized the meteorites, causing changes in the metal inside them, so when they impacted the ship, the metal would start bleeding into the plating, creating degenerate alloys. Fortunately the Valknut construction meant that the important stuff was further inside, and parts from the neighbouring modules were used to recover the lost section.
But when this data was given back to the Lindheim scientists, with some samples, they soon managed to replicate this ionized metal. They performed tests and found it quite effective against alloyed armour, as it poisoned the metal, creating degenerate alloys that were so weak some even fail against their own contained atmosphere. The fact metal projetiles are often turned to plasma upon impact makes it even more effective in spreading the poison. This metal is called Malmeitar, metal/ore poison, and soon all warships would pack Malmeitar shells.

The madness of this system is staggering beyond belief, and the Nuigepeti are ill-equipped to handle such a grand display of stellar insanity. Miners who work in this system see higher suicide rates, more absences and work-place accidents, and even the cute drinking game of the early years is slowly replaced by bars filled with barely functioning alcoholics.
Still, the wealth of an entire system is not to be ignored, and so the work continues, the crackling twins spinning their deadly dance at the center of the Nuigepeti's first stellar outreach.
Back home, the system's influence does not go unfelt. Detached from the rigors of life there, the wider public is nevertheless sent reeling at the implications. MOVING an entire star? For what purpose!? How!? When!? Astrologers scour old records, wondering if such an event had happened in their civilizations lifetime. Would the Nuigepeti explorers find these star-movers out there, still wrecking the heavens with no rhyme or reason?

The gentle system beyond the chaotic twins proves to be it's mirror in more ways than one. A single star, mundane, and with planets in wide, stable orbits, creates a system that is almost 'boring' in it's uneventfulness. Here, miners too set up shop, and soon this system bustles with their ships as well. Weary travelers and workers from the Chaos stars, as they are soon dubbed, find solace here. Many a Nuigepeti makes a fortune opening small stations serving as recreation centers here, and eventually one larger station, orbiting the beautiful blue gas giant, becomes something of a combination casino / art museum.

>Action 2 - Explore 'North'
The stars may frighten, but they do also beckon, and so another interesting target along the hyperlanes is chosen. One of the brightest stars from Hearthhome's night sky has long been known to actually be three stars clustered in a tight orbit. Spaceships hurtle through the void, and come upon an exotic system.

For starters, there are actually four stars here. At the center of the system orbit two neutron stars, spinning on their own axis and around each other at incredible speeds. They are undergoing a merge, and within a few million years will become one. Until then, they oscillate, gravity waves beating a cosmic drum across the entire system with their revolving.
Further out, the other two stars exist in wider, elliptical orbits. Here, the Nuigepeti are shocked, and for good reason. The two stars here are twins to the Chaos Stars, one a giant blue behemoth, the other a slow burning ember of a dwarf. Here though, they remain distant from one another, their orbits rarely, if ever, bringing them close together. Each drags along with it a host of rocky planets, so the Nuigepeti cautiously go in for a closer look.

Such an intriguing situation; a world left shattered by some cataclysmic force is a reminder for the wary among the Pongomen of the scale of the stage upon which they now deign to play. But for the curious of mind, the hypotheticals are quite fascinating indeed. Further research is required – so more data needs gathering, more samples need taking. The Pongomen search the worlds and moons of the system for a suitable site for an outpost from which to conduct their studies, though others caution that an orbital site might be superior until the nature of the Geological extremity is more thoroughly understood – what if the other rocky worlds of the system posses the same liability to fracture? And still other research teams are formed to conduct analysis of the untouched worlds for mineral deposits and possible terraforming candidates, and to examine the strange effect through which the planetary core maintains a functionality despite being more or less open through the fracturing.

Initial views of the Timor system show it to be composed of three stars. The Vast White Giant of Timor, and the small Red Stars given the names of Rote and Sawu by the Orangutan explorers. Rote orbits Timor closely, and between the two such orbital bodies that exist are small and scorched and molten from their proximity. Outside of Rote there are a few more scorched rocks, and a solitary gas-giant with its own sequence of moons. Sawu orbits the pair of Timor and Rote at a considerable distance, near two times again as far out as Timor's gas giant is from Timor; and three rocky worlds are dragged in Sawu's wake – the first a desolate barren desert, the second a cloying atmospheric soup; and the third and outermost a world of severe seasons that varies from frozen to arid as the orbit around Sawu drags it closer and further from the primary Timor Star.

1. With successes in the western system, it was deemed appropriate to begin exploration of the other two star systems linked to the Ariadnae Eridani system. After a metaphorical coin flip of a CentAdmin meeting, it was decided that the North system was to be explored first. Once again, the 1st Fleet would be sent to an alien star.

2. Cancer. Of course of all things, it would be a pirate to get cancer. Even on earth, such a disease was a non-issue to cure by the time the colony ship left the system, to say nothing of modern medical treatments a century later. It is a good day for the UEC. First the advancement of grim sciences. The Radii system falls under the banner of the Cogitari, expanding their people from but a humble solitary system existence to grasp at the wider cosmos. But they are most certainly not the first to do so, as the Luminex system reminds them. Planet ferrum exhibits the same kind of mysterious structures found in the prior system, only on a much greater scale. Instead of a village, half the planet is patterned with an almost maze-like series of what can only be described as cities that have been once again carved out of the very earth itself, asif it just grew out from the planet’s surface. The other half of the planet is riddled with quarries, but not ones that were dug out using crude methods the Cogitari are well versed with. These instead seemed to have been hollowed out, perhaps using the same methods whoever came here before employed to shape their dwellings. Regardless, the mystery grows, as just like last time, there is not a single scrap nor crumb to suggest who or what was here before… and for what purpose.

Establishing of new colonies and reserves on the ocean world goes well and is met with a boon of immigrants seeking to indulge in the promise these new frontiers bring. The planet shows a rather concerning amount of seismic activity, it’s ocean bed seemingly shifting and churning every few days, which probably explains the incredible chaotic oceanic conditions of the world. When checkup crews reach these locations, they are horrified to find the colonies in ruins, and even some reserves reduced to bloody graveyards filled with terribly mangled dragon corpses…

As the Orms explore, they have found worlds much more hostile than in Lindheim. With no easily accessible resources like on Middilgard all supplies will need to be shipped in. Furthermore, conditions on those worlds may prove outright hostile like with Eldingheim's meteor showers. For this reason the Orms need an easily repairable material, not just that, but one that can be repurposed as situations demand. Thus the idea of a universal parts system comes up. Named the Speider Construction Packages, they are made to replace almost all the parts used on planets. Shipments of Speider Packages can be used for cars, houses, towers, etc. There's even military applications, able to be incorporated into fortified trenches. Of course not all parts are Speider parts, but most are, streamlining logistics greatly. A wide variety of designs are also made, though they are expected to be temporary, especially for structures, as concrete should be sourced locally.

With great fame from their discovery in Eldingheim, and as other explorers are still figuring out their own exploration vessels, Arn Egilson bolsters his fleet and embarks on his second journey. Now accompanied by a couple warships. He heads in the almost opposite direction this time, heading toward a lone star system. With data from Eldingheim the Orms have gotten better at observing other systems. A total of 5 celestial bodies have been detected, two of which may be gas giants, one red, other purple. Of the 3 potential terrestrial planets, the closest seems devoid of atmosphere, Mercury-equivalent. The second terrestrial seems to be in the goldilocks zone, though a bit close. Water has been detected, but we are getting interference from what seems to be a ring system around the planet (like rings of Saturn, but way denser). Could the water just be from that? Finally there is the third terrestrial, which is the farthest out, devoid of atmosphere and possibly just a dwarf planet akin to Pluto.

The Union was shook by the news. The new habitable planet so inviting at surface viewing hid in it'd depths monsters so grand dragons stood no chance before them and the earth shook at their whim. Rapid Kinetic Energy Distribution aka RKED, was innitially developped with the intent of creating highly durable armor able to withstand any kinetic impact and easily distribute energy attacks such as heat or lasers.

Who would have thought it'd also find use in civilian applications so quickly? Great RKED installations are placed on safer parts of the planet. The kintic energy of the earthquakes will be fully absorbed and changed into heat which in turn can be used to evaporate water to spin turbins and create electricity.

However curious we find the monsters of New Oceana, the people are outraged as such an example needs to be made and the beasts need to be hunted, though hopefully not to extinction. As such the goal is not an extermination, but a culling, a prophaganda victory, testing of new technologies and obtaining of valuable armies.

An Elite force within the People's Army is created. Equally Dragon and dwarf. Equipped with the best traditional weaponry and and new inventions. Large U-boats are constructed known as 'carriers'. Behemoths made out of people's metal, armed with harpoons, shielded with People's Metal (very good alloy from my starting actions) and further safeguarded with RKED tech. Citadels for under the sea. For armaments the U-Carrier can dispense mines around itself for further protection,
shoot out harpoons, missiles and earthshaker artillery sells. As well as posesses 2 sets of mechanical ars on the back with vibroblades.

The U-Carriers are modular being able to shut off and throw off parts of themselves if damaged with multiple replacement parts. The main feature is a lobby able to deploy dragon underwater fighters.

The Dragon Soldiers are eager to get their revenge on the monsters. They are also fully armored with RKED enforced people's metal and possess propulsion thrusters as a secondary acceleration source on their powerarmor. The dragons are either armed with an earthshaker hammer or a vibroblade each in one hand and a harpoon integrated into a shield in the other. The Harpoons posess 3 types of ammunition:

Explosive - expodes on impact
Vibro - for max penetration
Earthshaker - for max internal damage

The goal of the Great Hunt is 3-fold
Test our new technologies in combat against an actual enemy
Cull sea monster numbers
Make our army look good to the people
Obtain sea monsters samples for further study
Military excercise - let us shore up our tactics and training based on this!

Within the newly christened system of August Nova, past the ornamental worlds full of geological wonder that hint at cosmic forerunners, the polity has discovered a jewel of a world.

Some call it Eden, though as to not stoke direct modern religious connotations, the Polity does not officially sanction this term, however popular it grows to be.

Action 1: Settle Nova Rheia, in the August Nova system.

Earth and its associated orbital territories are abuzz with the news at the discovery of a habitable planet. Colonisation of the August Nova system is announced and begun almost in the very same breath (nine months of delay).
The long and arduous process of setting up the solar rail network to connect Sol up to its neighbouring star is begun, joining the five planets of this system with futureproofed binary terminals built to handle massive amounts of anticipated traffic, double layering graviton lenses for vessel capture, both in and out.

Nova Rheia itself is considered to ideal for human habitation that little effort is needed to actually settle it, the planet broken down into administrative zones and a colonial administration complex planned to be completed within the decade to administrate the countless anticipated homesteads soon to dot the new world.
A fertile and ideal chunk of land is planned out to one day grow to be a mighty planetary capital, the city that will one day become Arcadia.

Action 2: Neogenomic Uplifting (Using my Neogenomic insight)

Before humanity plans to leap forward to a new frontier, the Neogenomic Project is rolled out across the population.
Stronger, smarter, more attractive, long lived and resistant to disease (and some would say more compliant), this series of gene therapies are intended to go above and beyond the previous ones with instilling positive traits to create a new human baseline.
With the Polities focus on equality, they are made available to all at the various gene clinics of old earth, plans made to fully roll it out to the entire human race within fifty years.

Most effort is made on preparing the new colonists, with some (possibly artificial) fears of possible alien diseases requiring enhanced immune systems to counter.

A new humanity will march from their cradle, carried in great trains and shuttled across the void to a new home.

Though sadly their latest system holds far less excitement, and though there was hope around a potential goldilocks planet containing water, it too was just another barren rock floating through space, the interference caused by the planetary ring as expected. Still, the study of the rings did at least offer ideas on how to potential conceal void structures or fleets using the cosmic terrain, so not a total loss.

As the fight begins, the armada is able to make out the image of their deep enemies in the light of the firefighting…. These creatures are dragons!? What’s more, they’re massive compared to the people’s dragons, and far more voracious. Another volley of beams come through, the enemy having zeroed in on the armada’s ships. Half of the ships are downed or critically damaged, and in turn only 3 more of the approaching dragons are felled. Now they are close enough to engage in melee, and the people’s own dragons swarm and try their best to inflict severe injuries on the enemy, even though they are dwarfed in comparison. The battle lasts but a mere half hour, and the armada… sinks. 2 ships and a handful of escorting dragons are able to retreat and warn the rest of the military as to what they’re facing.

Thermal cameras on the satelites shall be used to more precisely locate the underwater congregations of the burgoise scum found on the planet. And then we start the bombing. Keep bombing their habitat until our satelites can't detect anymore sighns of their presence.

Once that is done the full mobilised Dozvut army, shall descend on the oceanic deapths and kill or capture whoever of the Alien Dragons remains.

Industrial output needs to be hightened. As such a gigantic space hyperforge is created in out homesystem. No smaller than a moon it's solely dedicated to mass production of people's metal goods.

A strange thing happens back in Lindheim, the development of the Speider Packs, a small version is soon developed, not for use, but for recreational purposes. These Små-Speider Packs cause a lot of enthusiasm among children and hobbyists, making elaborate constructs with all sorts of fantastical uses. With this, the Orms are becoming increasingly excited for space colonisation, even just for the prospect of living in Speider homes. There's even competitions to make Små-Speider colonies, about combining form and function.

Creating plenty of colonial communities out on the worlds, each pioneering their own constructs, finding which works and which are a waste of parts, but thankfully there are parts to waste. Though the outposts are soon clad in concrete casts, sourced from local minerals.

As the Egilson crew packs their gear, despite the known rarity of significant discoveries, they are nevertheless disappointed. The explored system is called Ingrid, in honour of the first person to make a successful motorized flight. But Arn Egilson feels it not right to return just yet, and so transfers the supplies from his secondary ships and to his flagship, sending the secondaries back home while he ventures to the next system. Details are more hazy about this system, only 2 planets have been spotted, one gas giant and the other a terrestrial world with an eliptical orbit, and a strange surface composition. The flagship's telescopes themselves have noted something odd about that planet, that its surface is moving. Is it a planet of seas? Is it of extreme tectonic activity? Or is it something else? It's unlikely to just be clouds though.

Action 1: Develop August Nova

This new home for humanity is developed from the ground up. Solar collectors are established to beam energy from the Nova star, great and colossal mining trains are established with refinery terminals seperate from the civilian network to harvest and process raw resources into any number of goods. New cities are established upon Nova Rheia itself, already burgeoning with new human life as the colonists spread across its surface. Botanical institutions are set up all across the planet to catalogue the various flora for useful properties, as cities are connected by skyscraping monorails, aerial terminals, ports and orbital terminals. This new second home for humanity develops at mach pace, expected by some to contribute more to the polity than Old Earth does within a hundred years.

Action 2: Scout east to the hyperlane junction.

The Noon, still a comissioned (if ageing) vessel, is retrofitted for the new century and equipped with new technologies for a new exploration beyond the borders of the polity.

There they find a swirling system of debris, trinary stars that dance around a messy system littered with asteroids and colossal moons. Only one significant body exists here, a modest gas giant with an unusual orbit.
