Mystery Club Quest

ID:W6lPxeaM No.6068946 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
You are RICHARD "RICH" DANTE, a student at a prep school in the mountains of the INLAND EMPIRE in the RADICAL 90S. You like to tell people you are related to JOE DANTE, which you probably aren't, because it's way cooler than your CRINGE INTEREST IN POETRY AND THEATER. You like Roger Corman more anyway. You have a tendency to be a BIT PICKY and have a tendency to AVOID RISKS because of your embarrassing FEAR OF FAILURE. Given your risk-averse nature, you are in the Mystery Club, which is the organization with the least activities (and members) in your school. That is related to why you are currently being chewed out by your longtime friend and club president, LUCY MOLEPAW.

"Rich? Mr. Mason is going to shut us down and make us merge with the Lit Club if we just sit around reading mystery novels. It's the start of winter break and we have nothing to show for the first half of the year. They're doing an audit in January. We could get in serious trouble."

It's true, your club is COMPLETELY GOOD FOR NOTHING but drawing on the school's GENEROUS BUDGET FOR EXTRACURRICULARS. This has drawn the attention of Mr. Mason, who directs student activities and residency. Lucky for you that the school is on WINTER BREAK until January 7 and even that blackheart has gone home for break. Today is December 18, 1993 - but you and Lucy are still here because, like around 10% of students, you chose to NOT RETURN HOME FOR BREAK. Both of you have your reasons, but the fact that you are both here means the club has 100% attendance today. Great job. Lucy bites her lip. "If we had a handful of good activity reports we could keep things going. But they have to be real, Mason is a dick. And I don't want to join Lit Club. Do you think you could go around and see if you can drum up something for us to look into? Or maybe if we had more members, we might be able to justify the club's existence that way. You could make Sam join, right?"

It's true that you have a habit of picking up on things. It's kind of a nasty habit to always have one ear eavesdropping, but handy in this case. You like to think of these things as your MAGIC BULLETS, as if you were Max from Der Freishütz. You can ensure a certain degree of success, as long as you have them in your bandolier.
