>>8274419I was born literally the day after 9/11, so I didn't get into Bionicle until the Ignition trilogy.
I would've gotten into it during 2006, I remember seeing the Piraka and Inika for sale at a stand in Legoland when I went there with my mom who offered to get one for me because they looked cool, but I was turned off because I thought they were weird. (Granted that was the point, and I love them now)
Fastforward to 2007 and my mom gifted me Dekar and Thulox randomly, and though I was skeptical, I realized that they were the tightest shit once I built them. Remember later going to
bionicle.com and being mesmerized by the atmosphere the Barraki advertisements gave off. In fact, when I first found out about youtube, the first thing I searched up was Bionicle, and was how I got to see the Barraki commercial and Singing Squid vids, and later the original three Bonkle films, split into several 10minute parts at 240p of course (plus a lot of Bionicle music videos, typically either set to any of the actual songs Lego used in their ads from 2005-2008, or Linkin Park. Because it was 2007 [toyler]a better time[/toyler]).
Sidenote was that although I did get all of the Toa Mahri later that year, plus Hydraxon and Gadunka, we could literally NEVER find any of the Barraki in stores - they were always sold out, all the time. Remember having trouble even finding Kongu for a while.
