>>8224601> Lego has pretty much kept up to the exact same quality it has always had I definitely had WAY less pieces crack in the 90s and early 2000s than I have now and those were under heavy use while the recent ones are mostly on display/get rebuilt once in a while.
It feels like the older plastic was more pliable/flexible while the new one is more rigid (perhaps due to the basic pellets being translucent now with added pigments).

>>8224502The old yellow one has markings where the stud was inserted where it pressed/scraped a tiny bit of plastic away to snuggly fit into the piece without cracking while the new tan one doesn't have this so the stud ripped the piece apart from the inside over time because it's under permanent stress.
