That's a common problem that has absolutely nothing to do with you and I wrote a bit about it here:

You might want to check out those flag pieces, too, since there's a high chance that those are also cracked or in the process of cracking.
Hold it so that the light will reflect off the surface and move the part slightly around.
Should they be developing cracks then there will be a (barely visible) deviation of the reflection that should be around the same area as where your other clips broke.
