Yamato did the Birds in both their 1:48 and 1:60 V2 lines and I'm sure in their typical fashion they gave you the appropriate stickers, but Bandai did the Bandai and just decided to do removable stabilizers because yeah that makes sense.
Anyway, fun thing about the Angel Birds is you never see them in any mode but fighter, in fact I've heard back in its debut the ability for the VF-1 to transform was actually kept secret from the audience; as far as anyone knew at the time, these were just weird scifi Tomcats.
But here's the cool bit: that bootleg Thunderbird red white and blue stuff ain't just splattered on indiscriminately.
