>Some of the best sets aesthetically in the line (Evo, Toxic Reapa, Core Hunter, Breez) mixed in with some of the worst (Rocka, Evo - who almost never had a good set, and the god-forsaken mess that is Voltix)>Even the more interesting designs aren't necessarily well made. For the big bad, Black Phantom is a pitiful rehash of ideas from Fire Lord and Rocka XL. Stormer and Speeda feel more like the stars here but even they're mediocre builds with a few interesting aspects. The end up better served for parts than their original models>The heroes, once again, end up the least interesting of the bunch. Most credit I can give them is trying to really mix up the builds and give each something unique in appearanceAlso, what's with Hero Factory's obsession with those hose pieces?
But now Brain Attack. Good god I'm glad there's only a handful of the sets in what I bought.
>Why the visor pieces. They look even worse than the bits they added in 2.0, and without them the heads look like they've been shrunken or given an underbite>Most of the heroes look at their worst. They're plain, barebones, and lacking in any personality. They all look like their part budget was reduced considerably, or that it all went into the idiotic "core protector claws">The idea of parasite-infested creatures is a fun one, but not this way. Most of the creatures end up looking dreadful and lack in good parts. The parasites are cool but ultimately uninteresting unless you really get into the collector idea like Krana or KraataReally my biggest complaint about Brain Attack has been the same since the sets were originally unveiled: they look hideous. Not a single set in that wave looks good. Far too many look like they're unfinished, like they ran out of time and shipped a 2/3 completed model and called it a day.
I know it's subjective, but I do wish they'd done a bit more with these because there was so much potential to create some really interesting sets.
