>>6346966I agree with you on some level. But i personally didn't like how the prequels ships often looked a lot more advanced than their future counterparts of the old movies. I liked the grimy boxy industrial feel of those.
New ship designs are ok and in line with the universe for the most part, but nothing to completely fall in love with. Especially lolmao deathstar was boring as shit.
>>6346969starwars was always a fairytale with shiny sci-fi bells and whistles stuck onto it to make it feel new and worthwhile. Those sci-fi bells and whistles were done very well though and made the series an all-time classic.
While there are themes there if you look for it, the main appeal of the series was never it's intellectual depth.
I do disagree with the anon though. While i cum buckets everytime i see the whole podracing sequence (designs, pacing, sound are all fucking excellent and it holds up incredibly well to this day. Feels like a completely different movie than the rest of the three prequels and is imho the only redeeming factor of them all) The podracers had this nice mix of early 20th century racecars and futuristic industrial design.
But he prequels dropped the ball so hard on every other aspect outside of individual ship, set and costume designs that sitting through them is considered an achievement for me.
Luckily i can just play that awesome racinggame by lucasarts.
>>6346972Maybe i'm just a fucking nerd, but Jedi Starfighters have a pretty iconic shape for me even if they aren't necessarily my favourite. Don't remember the ARC fighters.
