>>10137931when I was like 13 I was walking to my house with a friend on the 4th of July. a little way down the street we see a small rabbit in the road and we're talking about shooing out of the street and into the bushes/trees where we assume it came from. however before we got to it, a car turns and blows through a stop sign on the street with the rabbit, they had plenty of time to see it but made no effort to not hit it, and they ran it over partially. so we run up to it, we don't know what to do but a guy who was sitting on his porch runs over to see what happened. this poor rabbit is making these terrible noises, but he scooped it up, got into his car and left. all I remember him saying is something like 'I can help it' and then he was just gone. fast forward a few months, I'd just assumed the worst and never inquired, but I was riding my bike past the guys house one day, he calls me over and says he wants to show me something, I'm like okay I ""know"" this guy it's fine. leads me into his back yard and shows me the same rabbit, now grown but missing a front leg. guy explains to me that his friend was a vet and they were able to save it and now he's keeping it as a pet. I went and saw it every now and again over the next 5 or 6 years before I moved away, and I assume it lived out its happy little rabbit life with that guy.
