Besides that, the original "sexybionicles" subreddit got nuked, but there's one called, creatively, "sexybionicles2" that has some good inspo and occasional instructions (and some very odd ideas of what's sexy I guess). >reddit, of course.

It's just as good. I've also stocked up on a lot of bootleg technic pieces from Aliexpress, especially for shit like pins and axles.
From my experience, never having gotten anything more complex than a canister set when I was a kid, and certainly never having explored Hero Factory of G2 builds, some of this stuff has been very challenging to understand. However, seeing really, really competent people gives me a lot of ideas and helps a lot.
