>>7577339>implying toy companies don't want to sell as many products as possible>doesn't know why exclusives happensYou can always tell who the children and uneducated third worlders are on /toy/ with their lack of how businesses work.
And everything Mattel produces is cheapo crap. This shit got high praise from fanboys, despite lacking in modern articulation, just because they updated a few things.
Also look at how Megablox got cheapoed the fuck out when Mattel bought them and barely have any retail presence now.
>>7577365I don't disagree with you, but that packaging is still expensive. You don't like, i don't like it, but you increase sales by two or three times over by the perception of it being high class or just pretty. Hasbro would be stupid to just do cheapo cardboard boxes like
>>7577379 which gives off a cheapo knockoff feel, especially for their best sellers.
Again, take a basic marketing or business course to understand why they're spending nearly as much for packaging as they do for labor.
Kids (and adults) prefer seeing the toy rather than just pictures of it on the box. Seeing a toy in pieces just makes it look like they're broken. Even adults here on /toy/ will talk disparagingly if they see an accessory or head just tumbling around the box, despite nothing actually being broken..
>>7577379I thought you were talking about gashopon? And with those boxes, they're not assembled toys. This further reduces costs and has simplified articulation because of that.
I own a few of those and would not like the trade offs over the 3.75 Star Wars figures that feature modern articulation (for 3.75).
As mainly a 1:18 collector, i don't even like those skeleton figures that are featured here on /toy/. They're not well done, even if they are cheap. Good accessories though. It's better just to buy the HACKS skeletons.
