>>8083423Practice is definitely a big one, and an sure an engineering background can help make something structurally impressive, but sometimes it can just as important to have those couple 'eureka' moments where you come up with a really solid technique or design that just really sell it.
Like for example with the MOC you posted, the little things like the offset tiles as cooling vents and the technique for what I assume is an air intake on the front of the wings.
Also don't be afraid to fail. Sometimes you will have those builds where you get halfway through and decide its dogshit, but along the way you pick up those couple techniques that you carry to the next build. For example I built this spaceship basically to see how the little engines on the wings locked.
