I know it's not NECA, but this is basically meant to be a spiritual successor to NECA's old Cult Classics line. That and McFarlane's Movie Maniacs, which was worked on by a lot of NECA guys back in the day
This is Trick or Treats new line of 8" horror figures, they said:
>We were looking to create a line that was reminiscent of the late 90s and early 2000s action figures, when they were expertly sculpted and the articulation was limited to keep from breaking up the design too much
Well.... I mean... Yeah, looks like from the early 2000s. Awkward sculpts and little to no articulation. I love seeing obscure stuff get merch, I just wish it wasn't statue shit.
I'm not even one of those people that shitpost with "it's bad on purpose!" because sometimes stuff looks cool when it tries to emulate an old style, but in this case I don't feel that way. But maybe the packaging will also emulate that early 2000s style which would be neat. As a kid I loved collecting Cult Classics, Movie Maniacs and Cinema of Fear but I always wish they had articulation, and now modern horror stuff does and it rules. This line is like, REMEBER WHEN THESE FIGURES DIDN'T HAVE ARTICULATION????? COOL RIGHT??? no, not cool.
