>>7030749Clone programming retains all memories with successive generations so as not to lose valuable knowledge and experience; however, Spyrius do not experience pain, suffering or psychological trauma in the same way most other lifeforms do, though they still require medical treatment when injured. Essentially they are like the Borg from Star Trek, without the collective hivemind or assimilation of others by force aspects. Occasionally, outsiders will voluntarily become Spyrius, usually drawn by the semblance of immortality offered by their cloning methods (explains a number of familiar non-Spyrius faces in their ranks). These are particularly prized as they can more easily carry out infiltration missions against their previous factions.
Spyrius embrace a sort of anarchic philosophy, lacking a real end-game goal but remaining devoted to the increase in strength and influence of their society. They singlehandedly crushed the Unitron colony and almost wiped them out; the survivors eventually joined up with the Exploriens and are struggling to rebuild their presence. If Spyrius have any weakness, it's their crippling fear of large bodies of water. One of their greatest colonies was obliterated when the seemingly arid world was suddenly flooded by an erupting geyser the size of an island. Investigations after the fact would determine that the cataclysmic event was the unintentional act of non-affiliated miners using portal technology to drain a larger oceanic world's waters: the other end of the portal just happened to appear on the Spyrius colony world. Regardless, the memories of the devastation caused by that event are among the handful programmed into every single Spyrius clone as a warning to beware any body of water larger than a pond.
