>>10898715>>10898808>>10898812Tamiya airbrush clearner/extra-thin cement/butyl acetate/pure acetone can all be used to clean an airbrush, but they are too strong for the job imo. Even if they don't damage your airbrush any spill can easily damage stuff around you: your desk, your clothes, any painted parts you didn't move away etc.
It's like washing your dishes with sulfuric acid: ceramic plates will be fine but a fork would get melted.
Hardware store lacquer thinner is weaker and more forgiving because of that, but it is more than enough to clean regular hobby lacquers, enamels and acrylics.
