>>8400910I don't know about you, but for me, going to TRU was a prize.
It was a special event where i specifically went there to buy something. So it's something i cherished, so that distinct smell would be something i would remember, along with layout of the aisles, colors, paints, and everything else.
I remember almost everything i bought there too.
Whereas I really don't remember what KayBee or other other toy stores smelled like, because everytime my parents went to the mall, i'd get to explore but rarely bought anything there. Not so special.
Another important thing i link to events is also music. I'd remember what music I heard on the radio when going to comic shops and other stores. Of course, life events are much more linked to that, but also shit I was reading. It's not even music i liked, because more often than not, i didn't control the radio in the car or even have a stereo when i was a kid.
Very nostalgic feelings come over me with music, but this is the most common for everyone. I can remember what i was thinking and feeling when i was a kid when those songs pop up.
Most of the music i collect today i keep in folders arranged by year and month i first got it, just in case i ever want to remember shit. And it works too.
Anyway, i'm sure there's people who also have tastes linked with nostalgic memories. I have like maybe 1 i can think of, but that's more of a lust thing, because i miss that one fucking meal i always had at a restaurant that no longer exists.
