got a 1/three fiddy russkie varyag protected cruiser. and the pe kit for it. nice kits tho.
i like those type of late 1900s cruisers with ram bow, sails and steam engine, victorian decoration and those looong slim hulls of the time. and MANY funnels.
there arent many kits like that around, broncos ching yuen and revells ass old sms emden, not gonna build anything resin (sorry combrig)
BUTT: reading into varyags history and that faggy fuck up by the baltic fleet, the entire Battle of Tsushima and its prelude/afterwards... my god russia, just give up sailing off shore you retards. mistaking brit fishers for japanese torpedo boats AT JUTLAND?
so, the japs did a successful early pearl harbor on port arthur and the other russ harbors and kicked ivan out of most if the pacific. doing so they scored the cruiser varyag and renamed it IJN Sōya. which i will do too. no russki reatrad in my fleet, nope.
painting of jap ships around 1900 afaik: below waterline red, hull and superstrukture white but the funnels? white or yellow? the web doesnt show much.
pic related is the yakumo, funnels are a bit darker than the hull, might they be yellow?
