>>7833721It's really surreal, I never cared about the story of the main movies that much, it was always the war in general that interested me. I was butthurt at TFA for only delivering a Scherzo for X-Wings which was ludicrous with Poe shooting down lone troopers. Rogue One was everything I wished for (especially with the OT setting). then Last Jedi was even worse than TFA with it's weird non-action action. Everything was a chase or just a few seconds long, nothing memorable that stays with you.
Watching all those analyses and arguments I just can't unsee how gigantically fucked the story is now. The Sequels are obviously non-canonical spin-offs. Now they finally do a Sequel movie with real action scenes and it is what I wanted to see in 2015 with TFA but I don't want to give them money anymore after they thought two movies in the main trilogy with zero good action scenes would be serviceable.
I want to further distance the Sequel movies from the real ones so I am doing my own fan edit. Currently in the middle of changing out the music of The Last Jedi with anime and /v/ tunes to make it at least a bit enjoyable and plan on doing the same for Episode 9. You can tell Rian would be a great music video director.
>>7833747That's definitely just a dream vision with no plot relevance. Pure misdirection so Abrahams can claim to have surprised people when in fact it's disappointing people. Just like Finn being a Jedi.
Really, by now everyone should know Abrahams doesn't do stories, only set-ups. We will never know how Maz Kanata got Lukes lightsaber and we will never get dark side Rey even though that's obviously what should have happened in TLJ due to picrelated. We won't even get to know why Palpatine survived, these movies are figuratively childrens play sessions, not stories.
