The problem with Tooners is that tooners are never happy. They always complain about how every figure is not a 1:1 exact translation of what they saw in the show, therefore it's not good enough and they need another one.
Look at the MP Line- you had Tooners complaining that Bumblebee looked too much like a robot and turned into a realistic Volkswagen, so they had to make another one that emulated the horrendously ugly animation model and dumpy cartoon vehicle. They went out of their way to make an objectively worse toy on every level, and then turned the entire Masterpiece line into nothing but that.
Beast Wars MPs were even worse, taking the original concept of the toyline - realistic animals turning into robots - and then throwing it in the garbage to make them turn into 90s CGI abominations. The very first return to Beast Wars we'd ever had was made into a hideous joke.
Unless you go Third Party there's nowhere in the Transformers line where you can officially find toys made for people who just like cool robot toys. It's all Toon, all the time. Now maybe it's just because I had an imagination but as a kid I never thought that what the characters were in the show was what they were "supposed" to look like IRL.
