>>10834522Have to get through the slow ass start of my fiscal year before I think about spending any more on O, but I appreciate the input, I hadn't heard of Ross yet.
>>10833502Hmm, currenty hung up on the N Scale NEC layout I'm planning on starting in the shorter term.
>still trying to figure out the amount of space I want to actually devote to the layout/can realistically give it>70"x28" seems congested for this much rail (already took a line out to clear things up)>kato seems like it might be too chunky for what it seems like I'm trying to pull>goals are SEPTA, Amtrak, and some CSX action>Station(?) for SEPTA and Amtrak (even though Amtrak doesn't actually stop in the specific area I'm modeling)>switching operations for CSX serving different little (very condensed) local industries (probably set up as an inglenook)>largest section of industry would have it's own beat to shit looking switcher>trying to fit in some clever bits of elevation changes (roads that go under the corridor.>considering a section of elevated I95 along the back of the layout to act as a tunnel so that the trains actually leave the layout, but probably cocked at an angle so it doesn't take up the entire back of the layout/look dumb/look like shit (fuck I95)>where the fuck am I getting silverliner v's>haven't mentioned the town section yet>there's no way this is all fitting in this spaceTheres no way, maybe if I make the layout a little larger, switch from kato to atlas, and go down to being 2 tracks wide, I might be able to make this work. If I could get the equipment that I want to run in Z, I would go the z route.
When I was a kid I had some perverse dream of a multi layered layout that traveled through different time periods via a complex combo of helix's, elevators, and who knows what else. That was probably because I couldn't decide which era of train I liked.
