However, I built the command shuttle last night and in doing so, realised I won't be able to combine them, with out so much reworking of shuttle that I'd essintially just be scrapping it and starting from scratch.
You see one of the features I'd planned was to be able to rotate the panels. The idea was that when it was landed the panels would be up, like they are in a standard TIE fighter and there'd be landing/manouvering engins at the bottom of either side panel. Then when it takes off, the panels would rotate so that those engins were facing the back of the ship, as if to give it a little extra thrust.
