>>10715380That's because Greg was still employed by Lego during the first three contests so these spergs had a loophole that tangentially immortalized their mocs as "canon" because Greg was basically their proxy for Lego approval. Whatever he said was gospel. Hence the autists in the Q&As trying to get their little tidbit nitpicks canonized over the years, hence why TTV got Greg involved initially with their contests. They don't care about spreading creativity. They don't care about sharing a mutual love for the theme. All they cared about was having their contributions footnoted in the pages of BS01 so they can feel special and lie to themselves and everyone around them saying that they contributed to Bionicle's canon in some way. Even though the line died over a decade prior, even though Lego gave no attention or even really sanctioned the contests themselves, again, Greg still being employed was their easy out. Once he got let go, they stopped giving a shit, and guys like Duckbricks(even though I don't even like the guy personally), actually took the mantle and continued the contests. These people never cared about any of it for any reason other than to stroke their own egos and/or claw at what was in hindsight, the last chance they had to get their works shoehorned into "canon" in their eyes. Canon stopped at 2011 or 2010, like it's been said already. These people will never get me to acknowledge their haphazardly handled contests as anything other than fanon, BS01 and all their forum circles be damned. I said when these contests first started years prior that they should have just been for fun. I even remember Eljay from TTV making a ramble video naysaying an anon badmouthing the contests for them being in bad faith and unfair too. TTV denied up and down that these contests were for anything other than trying to revitalize the fandom. Yet without Greg working at Lego, these jackoffs suddenly don't want to bother anymore. Suprising nobody, I'm sure.
