They probably flooded too many different products at once, with the regular characters, speedor sets, and these to collect, and the theme itself had quite a lot of sets in just the first year. That was most likely why they cancelled it. It wasn't a bad theme by any stretch, they just lost money because they went TOO big and never made that money back.
I only watched the pilot of the show, but they even worked these CCBS figures into it as a "super form" when they activated their chi.
