I think a system-based Bionicle reboot or some diorama or Marvel bust-tier tribute wouldn't sell well enough to be worth it for Lego. It would only appeal to a small minority of Bionicle fans (which itself is also a small minority of lego customers), and the rest would hate it. It wouldn't even work as nostalgia bait for casuals fans who had some Bionicle sets as kids, partly because they don't care/know enough about the story and the characters to be interested in system-based tribute sets, and partly because it wouldn't look like what they think of as Bionicle. AFOLs hate Bionicle in the first place. And kids and zoomers wouldn't care about it as they're only interested in the Lego version of some already estabilished popular franchise.
